    Screen went blank

By DonW  Dec 1, 2008 | 1 out of 1 found this Panasonic TH-42PZ77U review helpful

    Pros: Nice picture

    Cons: Bad parts, bad service.

I have been google about this product, and few people has the problem for TV not working after few months.
Unfortunately, my TV has broken twice.
I bought my TV Jan 27/08 after I had spend few weeks study, I am simple guy, don't really want anything too fancy, I loved the TV and watch most games from sports channel.
Until end of Jul this year, it went to blank.
I called Panasonic company from the place I was working, the C. R. from service dept asked me what was wrong with my TV. I told her it would not work, how could I have idea why it would not work. She told me I have count the flashes, so I have to call back next day with 7 flashes.
There days later, I got a call from Panasonic authorized service centre, and he replaced SC CBA panel, also upgrade the TV, guaranteed it should be no problem at all.
But Nov 20, it went down again with same 7 flashes.
Called company, sent technician, changed panell again, but still not work. Finally he found a pixel burnt out. THE TV IS FINISHED.
He is very nice guy and arranged with Panasonic for replacement on Nov 24.
Until today, Dec 1, the shop called me to arrange exchange to a new model, TH42PZ80U, I went to the shop I do like the look of TH42PZ80U.
After I checked the reviews the TH42PZ80U is not better than TH42PZ85U, but it is cheaper than 77U. So I don't know if Panasonic really want the business or not.
Whole my life I have been purchase Sony TV, and 3 of them never have a single problem, all them still in using (the longest one is 13 years order). Because I heard that the Plasma is better than LDC, now I don't know if I was right to make the desicion to purchase Panasonic.

    Merchant Review

By Julie  Jun 17, 2008 | 1 out of 3 found this Panasonic TH-42PZ77U review helpful

Pros: Don't know did not purchase the product

    Cons: Poor customer service

I was ready to purchase a 42 in Panasonic Plasma from this company. Once you place your order. You are informed in your purchase the items ship in 2-3 days. Great..well not really you then get an email where your purchased is verifed... That is wonderful. It is then you are informed it should arrive 6-8 weeks (free shipping) Calling their system you are on perpetual hold, there is no background music or noises. You have no clue wether you have been disconnected until you here an automated voice saying their reps are all busy. Please hold. Once someone answers there is no introduction only a Yeah... It makes you wonder if you are calling someones basement and who you have given your credit card number to online. I iasked is this Projector E. and they said yes..I then proceeded to cancel my order. I call back to ensure my order has been cancelled and the process starts all over again the holding, please wait on line, get a live person who then transfers me to a ringing line. I don't recommend this vendor. They don't inspire confidence nor security with my personal information.

    Panasonic Plasma's are the best....

    By houndman  Jun 5, 2008

Pros: The best picture quality ever at 1080P and ATSC tuner!

    Cons: NONE what so ever!!!

I am a local home theatre installer and once purchasing this Plasma unit, I was far beyond in love with it. You cannot go wrong with the ease of use, the best picture ever, and I install and sell these units. Great sound and nice remote control. Plenty of inputs but if your system is setup right, you only need one set of inputs. PLEASE, stop listening to the the stupid BEST BUY and Crappy City folks, they only sell BOXES, don't care about you, just a sale. GO OUT AND BUY THIS TV!!! I got mine at SEARS of all places for $960.00 plus tax. NO JOKE. They will work with you, plus it was on sale and an extra using the Sears Card. Stop reading this review, go get your plasma!!!

    a great television

    By slikk  Feb 4, 2008

Pros: good sound, life like images, excellent color

    Cons: none

i had a friend who travelled to Atlanta and i had her buy and ship to me the panasonic pz77u to Barbados. I was taken back by the extremely life like images that this tv produced. My living room is a bit on the brigjht side but i must say that the anti glare filter does its job without a doubt. The sound quality is also great but when i hooked it up to my Sony home theater system, the roof almost blew off. My advice to anyone wanting to buy a television that is not too over the top but at the same time getting quality for money; do not hesitate beacuse if you want a great plasma this is the one to get.

    Panasonic TH-42PZ77U

    By JACKO 2008  Feb 3, 2008 | 1 out of 1 found this Panasonic TH-42PZ77U review helpful

Pros: Right out of the box picture is clear. I do not have HD programming yet

Cons: The prices are still quite high but you cant still find a good deal

I always want top of the line electronics and so I do a lot of reasearch. Lots of people choose this tv and so I decided to try it. I bought it as an open box item from a local store for $1403. They delived it and took the box away and I did not have a remote or manual.
I later called and I was able to pick these up but I did not really need a manual. You just plug and play.
You can play with the picture and contrast but overall this is a very nice set.
