Unlike many camcorders, the VHS-C Palmcorder MultiCam Camcorders are VHS format, so your recordings can easily be played in any VCR with just an optional VHS PlayPak adaptor.

In addition to normal camcorder operation, you can also use the PV-L453 VHS-C Palmcorder Camcorder as a digital still camera. It's the perfect way for you to consolidate your photo and video needs into one portable camcorder. And the still pictures can be stored on an SD Memory Card for easy transfer to a compatible PC for storing, editing, or e-mailing. You can also create a slide show by recording them to video in the camcorder.

SD Memory Cards are versatile, high-capacity storage cards that are extremely small - about the size of a postage stamp. They work as "digital film, " letting you capture images and then transfer them to a PC, TV, PDA, or other device equipped with an SD slot.

The Hi-Definition Zoom acts like a telescope to produce extraordinary close-up shots, superior in clarity to those provided by a digital zoom, so you won't miss a single detail. Palmcorder camcorders also offer four different zoom speeds, so you can control how fast you go from wide angle to full telephoto zoom-anywhere from 2 to 16 seconds. The PV-L453 has a 20x Zoom.

Through the use of digital technology, the zoom ratio on Panasonic VHS camcorders can be increased to an amazing 700: 1 or greater, depending on the model. After the highest optical zoom setting is reached, the digital zoom automatically takes over, magnifying the image by blowing up the pixels to give you an incredibly close shot. The PV-L453 features 750x DZ.

The AccuBrite Built-in Light automatically powers on when needed, to improve overall picture quality and color rendition in low light settings. It's perfect for video and with the PhotoShot Built-in Digital Still Camera function.

The Picture-in-Picture feature lets you be more creative by inserting a previously taken digital still image into the video you're recording. Just take a picture with the PhotoShot feature, and then you can add it to the right side of the video you're recording. The video and miniaturized still shot then appear together during playback.
