Cons: Blacks are dark grey
First of all, I can't believe how well this came packaged from B&H and Panasonic. Secondly, while I have had this unit for only a week, I am very impressed with most features. I have not yet seen what the potential of the machine is since my HDMI cables are still on order. However, the more powerful lumen capability pays off. I had used a lower resolution but brighter business projector in the same setting and the Panasonic just blows it away. The colors are as vivid as a top-of-the-line CRT. Only minor tweaking of the color settings might be in order.
The only negative, and it is fairly minor, is that the black reproduction doesn't really achieve total black as I guess is to be expected with a modertly priced LCD projector. I did not see much improvement when we went to a Panoview Gray Wolf II screen. That being said, the multiple features are great. The advantage of the lens shift paddle cannot be understated, especially in our "portable" theater environment where we have elected to set up anew for each movie to maintain the colonial decor when the projector is not in use. I still need to resolve one issue, as the image wanders from one aspect setting to another on certain TV channels, most likely my fault in improper use of the auto setting. My opinion: most everyone except perhaps the most avid purist would be satisfied with this projector. ...
