    Excellent Value!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Lots of features for a low price

    Cons: No sound playback

Ive had 3 digital cameras in the past and this one is by far the best and most reasonably priced. You cant beat the value. I also looked into the canon cameras but the low factor zooms, large sizes and the lack of image stabilization really led me to... believe that this was the best camera for the price. The 6x lens works extremely well and the image stabilization works small wonders. You don't have to worry about taking bad pictures with this camera!!!! Read more Less

    Great Camera

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 2, 2005 | 13 out of 13 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: Price, Features, Ease of Use

    Cons: No Viewfinder.

I bought this camera for my parents and I like it so much I'm getting one for myself. I've used 3 other digital cameras and this is the first one that the controls were intuitive enough to use without needing the book (even the advanced contr...ols). -The menu is easy to navigate quickly. -The camera takes only 1/2 second to come on and be ready to take a photo. -Takes AA batteries so there's no special batteries to buy. -Optical zoom is powerful at 6x without having a bulky case. -Price is excellent considering the optical zoom and other features. This camera mirrors my experience with other Panasonic products. Sony quality with a lower price and more features. Read more Less

    Pros: ZOOM-ZOOM

Cons: I guess if you want a viewfinder, the lack of one here is a con.

My wife and I had a hard time finding a camera that would please us both. After our large SLR camera, she really wanted to go small, but I was unwilling to accept a 2x or 3x zoom, and don't like digital zoom quality. This camera suited us both. A...fter taking various pictures (indoor, outdoor, etc.) I can safely say that I am very pleased we bought this one. I have not taken a lot of pictures in low light yet, but the few I have taken have turned out very well. The "burst mode" was great for group pictures with many children. I have recommended this camera to my family, and to you as well. Read more Less

    LZ2: What a nice surprise!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 18, 2005 | 7 out of 7 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: 6x zoom, image stabilization, small size, ease of use, quality construction, long battery life, modest price.

    Cons: None yet.

If you are looking for a little pocket or purse camera with a reasonably long zoom and image stabilization, you have two only choices: Panasonic's LZ2 (5MP) and the 4MP Panasonic LZ1. I purchased the LZ2 as a second camera. It comes with a 6x opt...ical and 4x digital zoom. It also comes with very effective image stabilization - a must, in my opinion, for eliminating the jitters and blurs of long zoom shots. My primary camera is the LZs' big brother, the Lumix FZ20, a "near DSLR" with 12x optical zoom which I am very happy with. But I found myself wanting the larger camera's key features (long zoom and image stabilization) in a pocket size package. At first I assumed there was no such thing; I almost purchased another brand with much less optical zoom and no image stabilization. Fortunately I discovered that Panasonic made the little 6x LZ's. I am giddy with the results. Shots are sharp and quick. Worth mentioning here are the intuitive controls and menu's th Read more Less

    Wonderful Camera for newbies!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 17, 2006 | 6 out of 6 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: Super easy menu, Large LCD screen, easy upload of pictures, Has continuous picture capture, great detail in pics

Cons: Will go through alkaline batteries like they are going out of style, my suggestion is to purchase the more expensive Oxyride batteries. They seem to last forever.

I bought this camera about a week ago. this is the first camera I have ever bought and actually chose mycself. All the other ones have been given to me.This camera rocks. I have been taking it everywhere and photgraphing everything. I would definitel...y suggest this camera for first time users. Read more Less

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 30, 2005 | 4 out of 4 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: Optical Zoom, picture quality and price

    Cons: No view finder

I just recieved this wonderful Panasonic DMC LZ2 digital camera for christimas. The features on this camera far outway any other at this price range. The size of the display is awesome. The movie function with sound is also a plus. I also like the US...B to RCA jack function so pictures taken can be played on a television. The ease of operation is also a plus. You do not need a masters degree in engineering to operate this camera. I have owned 2 other cameras and have operated several others. This is a gem. Read more Less

    Excellent Camera for the money!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 16, 2005 | 4 out of 4 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: Zoom. Quality of Pics, No problems yet

    Cons: None so far

I bought this camera with my birthday money (considering the fact that i am fourteen) and was hoping that the zoom would be as good as they said it would be. Well, it was. I can zoom into almost anything, and still get a good picture. I also think th...at for the money, you cant go wrong with all of the modes that the camera comes with. Whether it be macro, playback, video, normal shot mode, simple shot mode, economical shot mode, and the scene modes. The only set of cameras with this many modes to compare were the Nikon Coolpix's. This camera is great for me, im hoping that this review will help you. Read more Less

Pros: Great shots in the dark, quality pictures

Cons: Not as fast as I'd like but who has $600-800?

I have owned an Olympus, a Kodak, and now the Panasonic. This is by far the better camera (and cost a LOT less than I paid for the Olympus several years ago). My husband turned the lights ALL out and took a picture....looks like the room is well lit.... That was my complaint about the Kodak. The flash was poor at best from 6 feet away in a partially lit room. I was able to transfer my SD card from the Kodak, to the Panasonic. Only then did I realize how much better teh Panasonics picture quality also was. The Olympus was slow, then just "died" of unknown causes. I was not happpy, after only about 1 1/2 yrs use and a cost of almost $400. Got a great deal on teh Panasonic at HH Gregg just before Christmas. Battery life is really good as well on the Panasonic. We have taken about 300 pictures, reviewed them about a thousand times (it seems), and just had to replace the batteries yesterday. Good buy, and easy to use, even for me. Read more Less

    Excellent bang for the buck

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 26, 2005 | 3 out of 3 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: Zoom range, image stabilization, price/performance

    Cons: No manual aperature/shutter setting

I've owned several digital cameras, and the LZ2 is a nice P&S, especially for the price. It takes good pictures, focuses well, has a great zoom, image stabilization, and an "easy" setting for newbies. My brother has one, and he seems to... like it, and now my wife has one, and it seems to be working out. There are other cameras in the same price range, but this has a longer zoom than other, and image stabilization for better luck in lower light ... two very nice advantages, especially considering the camera is available for around $200 USD. Very Pleased

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 9, 2005 | 3 out of 3 found this Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 review helpful

Pros: Zoom, stabilization, 5 MP, fast operation , size and price

    Cons: no optical viewfinder,

Love it! Bought it for the features: zoom, stabilization, 5 MP, size,(autofocus, auto exposure, scenarios, etc. of course), and speed of operations. Matching the features for the price left only one choice - this one. And the features work well! The ...lack of optical viewfinder is a minor problem that only matters when you're shooting with bright sun on the screen (wear a hat!), or shooting from overhead (only one or two cameras, for many more $, don't have the latter problem - and I've gotten used to one). Very good to excellent pictures. Read more Less
