    This superzoom rocks!!

Pros: Auto+Manual Controls, RAW, Zoom Length, HD Video

Cons: No Hot Shoe for Flash

I gave my Nikon D80 to my son and decided to have ONE camera and ONE lens that could take almost all the pictures I wanted - at a very reasonable price (under $300 in this case.) I care about image quality so I keep the ISO setting at 100 or 200 - so... in low light situations you may not get the quality you'd get with a DSLR, but if there's adequate light, and you use RAW for development and processing you can take fabulous pictures with a zoom that goes from 28mm to 400+mm. You can take great macros and you can capture wildlife from a distance, all in one camera. If you don't want to manually set each picture, the artificial intelligence works amazingly well, sensing what kind of the scene you are taking (e.g., landscape vs. portrait vs. macro). Although it doesn't have all the functionality of a camcorder, the HD video takes really clear video that you can show on your home HDTV. What a great deal! Read more Less

Pros: High optic zoom, MGP, lightweight

    Cons: Haven't found one yet

Was looking for a camera for my elderly mother. She wanted high optical zoom (more then the avrg 3x). She didn't want to go with a SLR that she would have to change lens' or worry about always checking settings. I found this at a store that w...as going out of business, so I got it for a great price. She has used it now for a month. And loves it. She can change setting if she likes or use the full auto, which does really work!. Get this camera! Read more Less

Pros: Light, Easy to Use, great quality, nice zoom

    Cons: No hot shoe

I've been using this camera for nearly a year now and I've taken better photos than I ever have. If anyone could find a better camera for the same price, I'll eat my hat. The manual mode acts just like it would on a D-SLR. But this camera... sells at $350, talk about a deal! Read more Less

    DMC-FZ28K is a GREAT camera

    By Kustom  Sep 6, 2009

Pros: price, ease of use, quality of pictures, amazing zoom, features. could go on and on

    Cons: none soo far

had a fuji finepix s5000 for years then decided to go up a few steps in image quality. did weeks of research on other finepix and thought i had one picked out in my price range and then i stumbled across this camera. did my research, looked at exampl...es, and decided that it was the camera for me. macro was important to me as well as clarity, and quality of the picture i was taking. to test the macro i placed a feather on the lense with the camera set to the intelligent auto (a great feature for amature photographers) and with the goose feather resting on the lense it took a crystal clear pic that couldnt have been more in focus if i tried. bottom line if you are not a pro and want to take pics like the pros, then the dmc-fz28 is the camera for you, Read more Less
