The DVD-LS50 features a 7-inch (diagonal screen measurement) LCD 16: 9 screen, built-in stereo speakers, the Mono Arm design and dual headphone jacks. The battery life of the DVD-LS50 is 2.9 hours at the minimum LCD brightness. The Panasonic portable DVD player includes high-speed, 5-step Smooth Motion Scan, a feature that provides crystal-clear forward and reverse scan, in 5 speeds. At the highest setting, the unit scans at an incredible 100 times normal speed. Panasonic portable DVD player optimizes the viewing experience by adding two key features - Dialog Enhancer and Cinema Mode. Dialog Enhancer boosts the center channel volume - where most of the principal dialog emanates when playing a Dolby Digital 5.1 disc - by 6dB. Cinema Mode improves the picture quality by reducing glare, softening resolution and improving visibility of details in dark scenes - resulting in a more realistic, cinema-like image.

    quality dvd made in japan!

    By Rick S.  May 19, 2004 | 24 out of 39 found this Panasonic DVD-LS50 review helpful

Pros: good color, most features, nice deal

Cons: does not come with car adapter

I bought this the day it first came out. I ordered it on the Circuit City website. I paid $269.00 and the rebate with it gives you a case, car adapter, and plane adapter. You cant beat the deal!.. The picture is very good, and the player has progr...essive scan. I have only had it a week but it seems to be the best deal out there by far for a 7" screen with these features and MADE IN JAPAN. I am anxious to get the case and adapters. There are a few models out there with a slightly better picture and a larger screen but you will pay $600-$1000 for them. If im spending that much im buying a lap-top with a 15" screen!...Good luck finding this for the price I paid. A day after I bought mine Circuit city put the price back up to $400 and took the rebate for the case and adapter away. Read more Less

    Error Code H03

By Vitual Kelly  Aug 16, 2005 | 5 out of 5 found this Panasonic DVD-LS50 review helpful

    Pros: Great Picture

    Cons: Motor Broke Twice

I purchased a Panasonic DVD-LS50 7" Portable DVD Player on November 23, 2004. The motor died in April 2005 with an error code H03. I have had my DVD player back a whole 7 weeks after getting the H03 code repaired (June 2005) when I got the H03 ...code again. I only turned the unit on 3 times (I'm afraid it would break again and I need it in times of emergencies). The repair center had replaced the Shaft Assembly, Interior Gears, Traverse Motor, and Optical Pick Up Assembly. I called the Director of Consumer Affairs at Panasonic to discuss the repeat problem. He was nice enough to call me after I wrote a complaint letter to Panasonic regarding my first H03 code. Now I am calling on him again. He said he will get back to me but it "shouldn't be happening." I want my money back but I don't think that will happen. I feel like I threw my money away. I, too, am considering buying a cheaper model. I am also considering starting a petition about this ter Read more Less

    Panasonic DVD-LS50

With its swivel screen and sharp, bright picture, Panasonic's DVD-LS50 is slicker than your average entry-level portable DVD model, but it also costs a bit more. Read more

    Panasonic DVD-LS50

It does have its quirks, and doesn't really excel in any area, but on the whole this is a good little model with a sensible price tag. Read more
