Pros: 24P, Longer lasting battery from 100a, and View Finder

Cons: Low light film use with no lighting kits

The 24fps with a view is way better than the XL2 which is way bigger way more expensive with no view finder (it really does come in handy) and is a really big buying point...

Not Your Average Camera

Pros: lots of features, came with editing software

Cons: none so far

I got this camera for Christmas last year after it was recommended to me by a proffessional filmmaker. He said it was a good starter camera for someone new to, but serious about, making movies. It was fairly inexpensive, had a lot of features, and was easy to use. And, to my delight, all he said was true! This camera was ready to use right out of the box and has proved its versatility and usefullness ever since. While it may be overkill for simple home movies, it is excellent for anyone who wants to make semi-pro shorts within a reasonable budget. I will be using mine for years to come.
I don't really know what the customer support is like because I haven't needed it yet!
