    Palm M125

For those on a budget you can't go wrong with the M125, it has all the the excellent functionality you would expect from a Palm organizer and now in this model the expandability of the M50x series all for around $250. The Secure Digital (SD) and Mult...imedia Card expansion are what made me decide on purchasing this product. You can store a pretty generous amount of information up to 128MB that I've seen so far onto a tiny postage stamp size card. Palm has introduced many SD cards with programs already installed onto them to include dictionary, thesaurus, games etc... Simply install the SD card into the slot and you're all set. The M125 has many fancy faceplates to suit your mood, you can have a color for everyday of the week if you'd like but the plates cost anywhere from $10-$20. The M125 can supoort any of the M50x accesories such as the portable folding keyboard $90 and the Palm Modem $100, additional hardware such as bluetooth wireless connectivity should be available by the end of the year. The palm M125 is no high end compaq in terms of fancy color screen or faster proccesor but then again it's about half the price of compaq Ipaq series. If you are looking for a rich multimedia experience opt for the Compaq, you will be dissapointed because the palm M125 doesn't offer MP3 playback, and voice recorder built in. They do however have seperate MP3 and recorder modules to purchase. All in all the Palm M125 will continue provide value and expandability for some time to come. Read more Less

    Big Disappointment!

This was the second Palm I bought. I sorta wore out my first one. I loved the features and then bought it when it first came out. I couldnt synch! I called Tech support 8 times and the arrogant bastards kept telling me to check to see if it was plugg...ed in, see if my software was loaded right etc. I kept saying that I thought I had a bad cradle. But oh no, their cradles are 100% inspected. Their cradles are perfect. They are PALM. Yea, right. Guess what, I bought a aftermarket replacement cradle at Staples for $25 and now it works fine. I will never buy another PALM product nor can I recommend it. Read more Less

    Palm M125

Palm's latest midrange offering packs plenty of value for its price, providing a lightweight and svelte form, a flip-up cover, a replaceable faceplate, and a USB HotSync cradle. At $199, the M125 includes all of the organizer apps--address and datebook, memo pad, to-do list, and expense tracker--that have made the Palm OS so popular, as well as extras you don't get in Palm's entry-level M105. Most notably, it features the latest version of the Palm OS (version 4) and a slot to accommodate the tiny Secure Digital media format that's gaining popularity for adding storage and apps (and eventually, hardware devices such as cameras and wireless network adapters). Palm m125 Review

I think this is a good handheld for a high school or college student. It doesn't have the MP3 player or hi-res color screen these students want, but it also doesn't have the high-cost you have to pay to get a handheld with these features. This might even be a bonus to parents buying one for their son or daughter. They'll know that the main purpose their kid is going to use this for is to keep their schedule or take notes for their classes, not listening to pirated MP3s. I expect a lot of kids to find one of these under the Christmas tree. Read more
