    Pros: Changed My Family Organization

    Cons: Cant replace Batt or Upgrade OS

    Some of the reviews Ive seen about the Zire31 have made me a little mad , people are faulting it for not having a camera or because its not a wireless device. Its not supposed to be , what it is supposed to be is a "Home User" friendly devi...ce. My husband and I have children with disabilities , we were drowning in appointments written on cards that get lost , phone numbers on scraps of paper , shopping lists that never make it to the store because one of the kids decided to color on it etc , All that is gone , I thought a PDA would be helpful I didn't realize how much it would change our lives , for example when I have child "A" at the doctor I don't need an appointment card , I can enter it into the PDA , I can look at the month and be able to tell by categories I have set up based on each member of my family who has an appointment and when , just by looking at the assigned color , then when I get home all I need to do is beam the appointment to my husband. No more lost appointment cards , no more feeling as if we are always behind the eight ball.My experience with the Zire31 has been very positive , if you are a super charged business person then yes it will not meet your expectations , but if you are a Home User it will be far more than you ever dreamed.     Pros: Nice value and great software

    Cons: Display is a little grainy and stylus won't reset

    While it's predecessor, the Zire 21, was only an OK Palm, it's new sister is a top of the line entry level PDA. Features software like you'd find on much higher end PDA's, color screen and expansion slot to make it a serious competit...or to those $300 models. While it's manuals could use some updating and expanding, it's software is fully functional and easy to use. It preloaded software and the extras on the CD-ROM are enough to do just about anything you would use a PDA for. With 16MB of RAM (14 available to the user) it get's the job done. Add a 128 or 256 card in the expansion slot, and you can run mp3s, look at pictures and even watch movies, though the resolution could use some work. All in all, it is a great PDA for the price ($149). Read more Less

    Pros: Price, Power

    Cons: No cover

    I started palm pilotdom with a Palm IIIxe, which I bought reconditioned for $25.00, so you know I am a cheapskate! Actually, I was satisfied with the IIIxe, but I lost it. I reluctantly parted with $100.00 (it was on sale), and am wondering now how I... could stand the old B&W screen and low resolution. It came bundled with a program called Splash Money. This program feels a lot like Quicken in terms of ease of use. The version that came with the Palm did not interface to a laptop (or desktop, but for $15.00, I got a download of the full program. Now, when I use my ATM or debit card, I can record the transaction on the Palm, and then synch to the laptop later. When I write checks at home, I can record it on the laptop. The program is set up for on line banking, which Ido not do, but it is available. It also will download a wide variety of files from Quicken, Money, Excel etc. For those who have not used a palm pilot, know that it is easy to get used to the graffiti letter Read more Less

    Pros: Easy to use

    Cons: Sometimes seeing the the screem

    I'm older then the average data user, but I got tired of remembering for everyone in my home, so help arrives in the form of Zire 31. Light enough to carry in my pocket all day.

    REAL QUALITY ISSUES

    Pros: Simple to use. Compact

    Cons: Difficult to read in day light.

    Real quality issues with my Zire 31. Bought in July when my Handspring failed after 3 years. The new Z31 lasted about 3 weeks and then suddenly failed to allow re-chargeing. CompUSA replaced it and the second one faile in less than a month. This one ...would not power up. I would have been willing to upgrade to something more reliable but the store would only allow exchange for another exchange. Turns out the thrid one has the same problem. Last night it was fully charged. This morning it worked fine for awhile. Then all of a sudden it refused to turn on. I called PALM and we went through the RESET process all to no avail. I'm done with the Zire 31. Palm wants me to mail it in for a replacement but I would rather buy another product than have to settle for this model. Also, difficult to justify going a week without a PDA in my business. Read more Less

    Sweet little palm

    Pros: Small, light and a sufficient color screen

    Cons: screen not as big as the M500 series, would like those extra buttons back!

    Awesome little machine. I was an avid user of the M500 series and loved my M515 until I lost it. It was good timeing though since the Zire 31 has just come out on the market. I purchased the zire 31 because it was very similar to my 515 in every w...ay with the added bonus of the OS.5 software with the grafitti 2 and not to mention that it cost less than half of what I spent on the 515. The casing is great, its small and sturdy. I have yet to notice any creeking sounds or a loose screen. The memory is very good for a budget PDA, could be better considering other products in this price range. under evry day use the 31 holds its own and then some. It is a great PDA and I would recomend it for the first time users and also cheap skates like me that, once upon a time spent way to much for PDA's in the past. You cant beat the price and the only think that would make the 31 perfect would be a hi-res screen! Read more Less

    Pros: has all the stuff you need

    Cons: lacks a camera and web browsing

    i think this product is great. it has all the features except bluetooth and a camera but who cares. if you want more bang for the buck, i will choose this pda. at the right price, and all the features you want, you cannot go wrong on this. it also is... a useful tool to the person in the office, or someone who likes electronics, and wants to manage their life. IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pros: cheap

    Cons: slow digitizer is very unstable

    system crashed after 6 months. Repaired. $75 five weeks latter digitizer became unstable and now must be reset after almost every use.

    Cons: limited wireless tech

    My wife bought the Zire 31 for me and I fell in love with it. It is really easy to use and more that fulfilled it's purpose for me. I could store all my information and when it comes to downloading stuff like games,songs and more it is really use...r friendly. If your looking for the basics this will exceed your expectations. If you want blow away tech think twice. The Zire 31 has made me a PDA beliver for life - who needs mps players and ipods etc when you have you PDA. Thank YOU ZIRE 31 Read more Less

    Zire 31 (My Old Faithful)

    Pros: Didnt Reset Much, Price, Music

    Cons: Low Res Screen, Buttons, No Wi-Fi or Bluetooth

    Oh....This was my first Palm Pilot that I ever bought, I really should have done my homework and bought a High RES device, One thing Low RES is terrible, the picture output is horrific, and If you are a beginner or you dont really catch on as fast as... others, this is the Palm for you, The music kept me happy, but I was seriously upset when I found out it didnt have Wi-Fi support or Bluetooth Hardware, but you get what you pay for. The Durability was awesome, My Zire 31 would reset because I would try stuff not needed like games (emulators), but My Tungsten E2 resets more when I trying to do the minimum of things...If your a High school student this will help you alot, cause the price isnt too much, But do your HOMEWORK before buying this device, heck your doing it right now....
