Doesn't work with VIsta 64 bit
Pros: Simple and inexpensive
Cons: Can't use it with Vista 64 bit
This thing worked fine until I upgraded my wife's laptop to 64 bit Vista. Now there is no way to connect. Palm's website says that it works on Bluetooth, but the Z22 doesn't have it. Palm's support agrees that it doesn't work and they don't intend to fix it.

Pros: It's the right size to wedge my front door open
Cons: Not worth replacing battery
This was a nice product but when the battery needs to be replaced after a year or so just throw it away. The battery cost 1/3 of the price of the product and you have to soldier the battery terminals yourself. When I purchased this product they told me that it was an entry-level product for Palm so people who bought this would grow accustomed to usefulness and simplicity of a PDA. Later when individuals grow more accustomed to the PDA they would purchase a Palm with more bells and whistles. In theory that sounds great.
Spending $100 on a throw away product is a bit more palatable then spending $500 on a more advanced throw away Palm: so I guess I'm ahead of the game.
When I spoke with Palm they said they didn't stock the battery but gave me the names of retailers that stock after market batteries. When I went to their web sites it said that these batteries may be larger than the original; therefore, may not fit. I'll never buy another Palm product. I only put three pictures off my computer, downloaded a few trial games and added maybe 10 contacts in and had about 25 calander entries.
IT DIED! It will not turn back on! I bought this on Friday not. Did not use until Saturday morning. I have had for 2 1/2 days and it doesn't work anymore. I am traking this back to the store and returning, not exchanging, RETURNING. NEVER buying a palm again!

Pros: Easy to synch with Outlook, price, ease of use

I am one of those people who needs to be organized with dates, task lists, and contacts. I used to use a paper planner, which was thick, large, and required a refill each year. I also am not a big cell phone user either, so no smart-phone. I have had the Z22 for a year now and love it. It is very easy to use and synchs with Outlook on my laptop. It is so much nicer to carry aroung the Z22 instead of a big bulky organizer. I have not missed an appointment or birthday, or lost a contact. No need to update that planner each year. The screen resolution is not great but that is a minor flaw. This is simply a great low-tech device to keep you organized. I would reccomend it to anyone.

I bought this Palm in Oct 2006. It never worked well. Palm showed me how to do a soft reset, but after 90 days it still wasn't working right.
They want to sell you a Treo phone, not a low end product like a simple PDA.
It didn't work when I needed it most--when I was in NZ on a trip.

Pros: Nice equipment (while it worked)
Cons: 8 month life
My Z22 worked great for about 8 months of very, very light use. Then the screen developed problems. The touchscreen went bad and now nothing works. I have spent hours trying to solve this problem.
Palm customer service is a complete joke (both phone and email). Customer service (via email) provided me instructions that made the problem worse. Customer service (via phone) advises I can return it for repairs for $70 (I didn't pay but about 85 for it to begin with!).
Were I to do it again, I would pass on any kind of Palm - due to the extremely short warranty period (90 days) and the very poor customer service (both email and by phone). And $70 to fix an $85 device? What a joke that is....
My advice is to pass on this product and to look for a manufacturer that is prouder of their product and provides a longer warranty.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoThe Best
