The screen can only be seen when in ideal light conditions. The font cannot be adjusted to a readable size. The battery will not last for a full week business trip. I would NOT buy another one at any price.

This is the PDA I have and love. Part of that being a Mac user and having superb syncing with the Mac OS version of Palm Desktop. It comes with 8MB of RAM, which is more that adequate (The Palm V is essentially the same, but with only 2MB of RAM.) I...'ve used the Palm OS for sometime and the good people at Palm continually make it better. The Palm Vx looks so cool with the brushed aluminum case. It's handled everything I've thrown at it. It DOES NOT use batteries in the traditional sense. It can only be charged through the cradle (not compatible with other Palm PDA cradles) or the travel charger. You can't pop it batteries, because there's no place for 'em to go. It's not available in color, nor is there 'net access out of the box. I recommend this one. Read more Less

Pros: Easy to Use, Plenty of Mem

Cons: Quit working after a year

My Palm actually belonged to the owner of the company I work for. He got it as a Christmas gift but, being an older gentleman, could never quite get a grip on using it so I got it. For the first 4 months, it was wonderful! I haven't picked up a p...iece of paper since I got it. I even went out and bought one of those multi pens that is a stylus, a pencil and a couple colors of ink. But soon after that, it quit connecting to my computer, then the portable keyboard quit working, and the battery doesn't last for more then a couple days. And Palm seems to be the worst about help. Their web-site is just a bunch of postings of who is having what problem and how they can't find any help. As far as I'm concerned, I won't buy a Palm to save my life. Read more Less

I have a Hp Pavillion Comp w/ 196 MB ram and a 40 GB HD Running windows me. i was wondering if i can download programs and then send them to the Palm Vx even tho i dont have the operating system. It seems weird that it would only support a mac. i rea...lly need a response b/c i am tryin to decide between this and compaq so plz tell me! thx alot~stroud~ Read more Less

i find it to be most helpful, i can also see where there will be millions more sold especially for educational and medical application i suggest you buy stock in PALM now also while the share price is depressed along with the rest of the tech industr...y. when this takes off all stockholders will be as pleased as pda holders are. I have been using the V for about a year,seems to be very well made,case is superb. The optics are excellent.Very, very user friendly and intuative. Extremely useful in design,port.ability and practical. I use it mostly as an address book. Had to rep...lace the cradle once. Tech support is not toll free, but generally helpful. Read more Less

I think the Palm Vx is an excellent tool, I can't live without it, but they are prone to failure. I have had to have mine replaced 5 times so far, and they keep failing!

The categories we create in one application are not available in other applications, resulting in rework.In Expenses, I cant serach on Date.I cant define categories in DateBook.While entering the text, simple functions like underline, bold, italics, ...are not available.I cant total my expenses unless I have a desktop PC.
