Speakers are bad on the 680
Pros: love the palms
Cons: person cannot hear u
problem with speakers, know to palm to be a hardware problem but no fix yet. Buy at you own risk...love the phone but if the other party cannot hear from you then they are useless.

Pros: a lot of features
Cons: not durable
I bought my palm treo in Oct. 07, Now not being a tech. wizard. I took the manual on a 6 hour plane ride to learn how to use my phone. Instructions very difficult. I have since discontinued the internet service because it was just too difficult to use. To top it off my phone cracked inside. I have yet to go back to the store to see what At&T will do. I was most disappointed with it. Although it is still usable, I have a big blob on my screen. After paying $300 that should not happen. When I told my niece, she said sometimes the battery gets too hot when charging and will do that to the screen. I noticed my phone getting very warm, but though that was normal. Good Luck with your phones.

Pros: Same old Treo you all know and love
Cons: Same old treo you all know and love
The treo line has had some issues through the years when phones are released. The 600 had an audio jack issue, 650 the same. And the 680 was no different. If you had a Cingular branded unit you had the joy of dealing with random, and unexplainable phone lock ups. The newest ROM update fixed it as well as a pesky battery draining camera issue. (Battery drain was actually patched prior to the ROM update but was included in the ROM so as to avoid future needs to install the patch when you reset the device). But overall, the worst issue when dealing with a Palm? Getting the support run-around on any issue. And both companies (Cingular and Palm in my case) pointing the finger at the other.

Pros: User friendly
Cons: Battery life and lock ups have to be fixed.
Over all, this is a great phone. I love the treo and will get the next model when my contract is up. The lock ups are starting to get on my nerve, but that and the battery life is the only problem with the phone. Oh, and the camera could be better but I understand that is fixed in the next model.

Cons: Battery life, Lack of features compared to the Windows Mobile 5.0
Palm has always created a phone with the power user and average user in mind. This phone is very powerful and handy. From making a phone call to creating a powerpoint presentation and sending it via e-maail, it can do everything that you need it to do. The primary draw back would be the battery life. Do not get me wrong, all smart phones have a shorter battery life, but this one is the worst. I used to own a Cingular 8525 and it lasted longer with average use then this phone. Also the Treo 680 lacks the features that Windows mobile 5.0 has. If you want to get an additional feature, you must pay for it via third party website. Aside from the battery problem and the OS being stripped down, it is a VERY solid phone and well worth the money. I would highly recommend this phone for anyone that is new to smart phones.

Pros: Light weight, easy to use, useful features, great help for organization and student life
Cons: Battery life is short depending on usage
I owned a Treo 650 for two years and upgraded to this one (Treo 680). I've been used to a Palm Operating System which is very easy to use and to learn to use for first time users. I am a full time student and have have also been active outside the classroom and with internships. This phone has helped me organize my life, write papers when I do not have my laptop handy and stay in touch with family, peers and important contacts at the same time. The phone&#39
;s features that I like the most are: 1) Microsoft Office tools (Word RW*, Excel RW*, PowerPoint R*); 2) portable bluetooth/infrared keyboard for typing those important papers; 3) internet capability (the internet is not the fastest one out there but is still very useful during times when you need to check your email or various info on the net); 4) E-mail (similar to MS Outlook); 5) Multi Media Card (MMC) slot for more memory and I can even download pictures from my camera's MMC card to my phone!; 6) infrared and bluetooth capability which helps when you are trying to save money and would like to send a message or a picture for free (you can transfer pics and messages through infrared and bluetooth at NO COST!); 7) touch screen for even easier use; 8) can be easily SYNCed on your PC or Laptop to get even more organized!
There are many more things I love about this phone. It has certainly helped me stay afloat as a student, a daughter, a friend, a sister and as an employee. It is cheap and it serves the purpose. Don't be fooled by other smart phones that may look better but do not have important features that this Treo 680 has. Just remember to buy that extra battery or a car charger just in case you are running out of battery life. This may be a con but it is a con that you can work with. Simply, this phone is definitely worth purchasing.

Pros: this phone does it all. there is no antana that helps with storing in your pocket. The 680 is also slightly thiner and a bit lighter then other treo's.
Cons: the battery life isnt the best but that is what a car charger is for.
This phone is hands down the best phone i have ever had and i have had alot of them. I have had this phone for about six months.I have had no problems with this phone in fact i have not droped a single call with this phone. The great thing is if there is somthing that the phone does not do out of the box most likely there is a program that will do what ever it is that you want it to do. I cant say enough about this phone it is the best.

My wife and I have both recently upgraded our mobiles to the Palm 680.Overall we both are very happy with the 680. The styling and controls are great as well as having an on board help is Great. The only down sides that we have found is the battery life (which is horrible)and the lock ups. We did read in the help tools on the 680 that Palm recommends to charge every night. No Problem. The lock ups are annoying as well, but easily fixable with a soft reboot.
