Pros: good features/huge potential
Cons: FRAGILE/typical lousy Palm 3rd party products and support
This phone has all the features I wanted. Loved checking my email whenever and wherever.
But when a colorful smear on the display appeared(23 days after I bought it), I went to the T-Mobile store for a replacement.
I was told this is a "pressure break of the display screen" that can be caused by nothing more than a "seat belt pressing against the phone".
T-Mobile only offers the phone at full retail price and with my "discount" I could get a new one for $269, when I paid $200 at a large electronics retail store. That was the substance of my warranty.
Awful product...awful support...this is fraud. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!
You'll be sorry you did.
Pros: Great integration of phone, PDA, and email
Cons: Reliability
I've had a treo for over a year and it's been great. I really like having my address book, phone, email, and web access on one device. The main issue is that I have had to return my phone twice because of various issues. Luckily Sprint was great about giving me a new phone.

Pros: Palm pilot, phone, e-mail, camera
Cons: none
I won the Treo 600 back in September. At first I thought it was huge, but it really isn't bad. There are so many good features on the phone and you don't have to carry around a planner because the phone is a palm pilot too. I really liked that the you can sync the Treo to your computer as well. Every call is crystal clear and the signals are excellent! This phone is amazing and I Love it!!
Pros: Address Book interface to Cel Phone / Battery lasts a lot
Cons: Camera sucks. Screen has not any brigthness
I have had this phone for almost 6 months. I was looking for something like this for such a long. the interface between the address book and the cel is wonderful and quick. I found many others tools available on the internet for free some and others not. but in resume everything you might need will be there at your fingertips reach.
I think the camera is there but not. It's almost useless the same with the screen has not the brightness that my Zaurus PDA has. but I guess that's to make the battery lasts.
But in the end. It's the best cel phone available today. if I saw something better I will tell you.
Pros: battery life, free music software with registration, clear calls
Cons: shape, camera, cost
I've had the treo 600 for about a month now. Overall, it is an excellent product.
The battery is excellent. I have found that I need to charge it about every two or three days.
When you register your treo, palm gives you a free, LEGAL copy of pTunes, which allows you to play music. (with additional purchases of headphones or a headphone adapter and a memory card)
I have found the phone calls to be clear. The first time I used it I spoke to my mom and she thought I was on a hardline. This is however, my first cell phone, so I don't have any other cell phones to compare it to.
I live in Maryland and I use T-mobile as my service, which I highly recommend. With the NW Basic Plan I get 300 whenever minutes. Unlimited weekend minutes, free roaming, and free long distance for $30.00 a month. I also have t-zones, a data plan which allows internet access for only $5.00 a month.
Now for the cons:
I really don't like how the screen is always exposed. I have really bad luck keeping screens in good shape. So I always have it in the case that comes with it. But there is aproblem with that. There is a button lock whenever the screen is turned off. It is to help prevent buttons from being accidentally pressed while not in use. When you get a phone call, the screen automatically turns on and the button lock is turned off. The case is very snug on the phone, so when you do get a call, the buttons are accidentally pressed by the case. This results in the ringtones being turned off and missed calls.
The next con is the camera. It really really sucks. You can only use it for background pictures on the phone.
It is a good product with nearly limitless possibilties, however they all require more money. The phone costs you money each month. The music player costs money for the right size headphones and a memory card (at least $50) A new case, a decent headset (only if needed), and software. (but most of us steal that anyway)
Its a good product, but do you want to spend all that money?
Pros: Small/good battery life/
keyboard/
sms/
internet
Cons: poor cam/battery not replacable/loose partial text on im's
Not to bad as a phone with size an battery life, other than you can't change battery and I have always been one to carry an extra.
The speaker phone always seems to have alot of echo to the one your talking to/so i don't use it.
PDA functions seem to work great execpt for small screen -a trade off for size.
Cammera is so poor i have yet to take a decent picture with it.
It seems to lose text at times on instant messages.
For the price of this phone/pda you would think eveything would be top notch.
As far as service-you go back and forth between handspring and sprint-my carrier. So service is terrible.
Pros: all-in-one - great PDA, great phone, great battery life
Cons: poor camera pic resolution, no recorder
PROS - I love my Treo. Was wary at first of spending so much, but it has been well worth it. Has substantial heft and I'm not afraid of it breaking. I love the keyboard but it would be nice to have the graffiti option too. Given a choice, however, I prefer the keyboard - less scratching of the screen. Sound quality is good, and I love the speakerphone. Had a Sony Clie PDA before this and the Treo has everything you need in a PDA with the phone as a bonus. Those who have problems dialing by using the keyboard can use the screen dialpad. Battery life is excellent, much to my surprise. I don't push it to the limit so I can't speak for power users, but I'm very happy. MP3 sound quality is great with the stereo earphones my husband bought for me, pretty good if using the speaker.
CONS - very poor camera picture quality, you really need bright light for a decent shot. However, this is a very minor function for me. I was rather put out that my unit did not have the MP3 player and photo viewer software come standard with it. Wish this had a recorder too. Cumbersome to use for internet because the graphics of any page takes forever to load, but works at a pinch in emergency situations (I used it to get Metro directions for a stranger on the train who didn't know which stop to get off). Haven't use it for email so I can't speak to that function. Now if AT&T will only let me text directly to my family in the Phil, it would be perfect. The only other problem I have with it is the card slot location - the strap of the leather case I have folds over the card, so while manipulating it I tend to accidentally pop the card out.
Wonderful machine! I LOVE MY TREO.
Pros: Everything comes together in harmony
Cons: none!!!
I have purchased a Treo 600 for Sprint PCS about five weeks ago. I have owned more than a dozen PDAs in my life, but this is the best by far. 1) Excellent signal 2) Excellent "sound" 3) The browser allows you to go to basically any site even to check out the porn 4) Plenty of memory (keeps 400+ pictures in high def) 5) very cool design 6) the keyboard is the best comprimise between utility and space, I take my law school class notes on my cell phone. 7) Has solid look and feel (unlike Treo 300, which felt a bit cheap) 8) Even the plastic smells good - I kid you not. Overall - Palm does not pay me for saying thant, but Treo 600 is a breakthrough well worth a few hunderd bucks. In Europe is sells at around 1000 Ecu. You do the math. Strongly reccomend.
Pros: form factor, 5way toggle, java script capability, apps
Cons: screen resolution, no voice recorder, no bluetooth
The Treo 600 has just about everything. Phone, PDA/organizer, wireless web, corporate email, digital camera, and mp3 player.
I upgraded from the Treo 300 and am thoroughly impressed with this device. Handspring (now Palm) made some great improvements in the Treo 300 that made a great device exceptional. First, the Treo 600 form factor is more phone-like. I really like the narrower design. It fits better in the hand and is more functional as a phone. The narrower body does not compromise the functionality of the screen size and ability to use the device as a PDA.
Another big improvement is the 5 way toggle button. It really allows you to do almost all phone, pda, web, corporate email, and camera functions with one hand.
The Blazer web browser is very functional. Java script capability has made alot more websites viewable /accessible. Speeds on the Sprint network are approximately 60K. Not fast enough to do a lot of web surfing, but makes the device at least functional as a web access tool. I find I use the web to entertain myself while waiting in lines, long meetings, etc. You can access and make purchases on sites like Amazon. It is also fun to access stocks, business news, etc.
The PDA has all the necessary features. I like the integration of my Outlook contacts to my phone. With a few key strokes, I can dial any of my contacts. No reloading numbers each time you switch phones.
The phone allows you to easily link digital pictures to your contacts so a picture of the person calling you shows on the screen when they call.
The applications for this product seem almost endless. My kids love to play the games (when they can get the Treo out of my hands).
I am able to access all my corporate email real time. The device notifies me when new email has arrived. Now I just need to get out of the office more to take advantage of this.
The MP3 functionality is impressive. The sound quality is great and you can use regular headphones (with a $6 adapter). I have seen a third party combo headphone /telephone set that is made for this device.
Oh, and the sd slot is a huge improvement. I can store photos, mp3 files, extra apps. This has been a real plus even if you don't think you have that many applications to store. I think you will find with all that can be done with this phone, you will definitely want an SD card. I recommend at least 256 mb.
Cons: screen resolution 160x 160. 320x 320 would be better, but to be honest... I think the screen looks great. It is brighter than the T300 and is fine for all apps except viewing the digital camera shots.
The camera shots are fine for sharing over the internet, but not anything you would want to blow up for Mom for Christmas.
It would have been nice to be able to have an integrated voice recorder and bluetooth functionality.
Hope this helps,
bz
