    Still a very good investment

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 28, 2001 | 3 out of 3 found this Palm IIIc handheld review helpful

Palm IIIc adds the missing color value of the Palm III series and other non color models . With its Bright display and amazingly the battery last longer compared to Pocket PC's. The world is in color and we deserve something basic to our eye needs.
Traditional palm OS --- so simple to use for
organizing daily work life. I used Pocket PC and Palm . I trusted my palm for everyday as my organizer and assistant, but I also used pocket PC for storing data with graphics or long text files in Word, big bulky files because of the memory size of pocket pcs are bigger and expandable but I observed that battery life of the Palm is still the best.

    Good Palm BAD DEALERS !

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 3, 2001 | 2 out of 2 found this Palm IIIc handheld review helpful

I love the IIIc best buy for your money, especially if you are new to Palms. This is my first palm and I am very happy with it. I just needed something simple to keep track of phone numbers, appointments, grocery list without caring pockets full of papers. This is GREAT. Plus you can read e-books, and play many cool games. (Without the color, the same games are not as good or even impossible to play, and your other options are way over $400). The PDAs that run WinCE might be cool as well but when I went to CompUSA, and Best Buy, I asked about the software for them, and was told not only is there less software, its harder to find its also more expansive !

Now I wish there was some buyers could rate the dealers here but I see there isn't so I will say it here DO NOT BUY from Corporate Raider !!! I ordered my Palm and next day got a call, the lady wanted to ask what accessories I wanted. She went down the list and when she got to the Cradle she said ohh you must buy it or it wont work. I told her that the Palm IIIc comes with a cradle and she said not this one, this one is a replacemt for people who break their original ones. You can only the Palm, no cradle, no software no nothing. And the "full" version is $49.99 more. I told her that on their site there is no information about so - called two versions. The even state you can buy an EXTRA cradle. She said that they are still my best deal. I told her I want to cancel my order and I can find a better deal, she just hung up on me.

Only reason they have that price is because it will show up as one of the cheaper ones in the search. So please before you place your order (for any PDA) E-mail or Call the dealer and ask what is included in the item !! I see from earlier review compusavers did the same thing.

    Palm IIIC

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 28, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Palm IIIc handheld review helpful

I have owned this PDA from day it was available. I love it. "Synching" to my desktop PC takes seconds. Program takes no time at all to learn. I have add-on software that lets me synch to Outlook on one computer and to Palm on another. I like the Palm OS better than windows based, but am not anti-windows. What the other PDAs with more memory don't tell you is that all their memory is needed because they don't work off Palm OS and windows takes up alot of extra memory. I am looking forward to next generation expandable memory with Palm (M505) so if you haven't bought yet, and can afford a litte more $$, I'd go this one up. Otherwise, I'd rate this the #1 of what's currently tried & true!

Palm IIIc Great - Compusavers Consumer

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 16, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Palm IIIc handheld review helpful

I purchased the PalmIIIc and I love it. But dont ever buy from Compusavers. I kept checking the web for shipping info for six days, no info, finally I called them and it still hadn't shipped yet. Then the salesperson tells me that the cradle is extra. How can you use it without the cradle. My email confirmation gave me code 3c80600U as the item number that I ordered. After paying an uplift of $30.11 for the cradle. It was finally shipped. I called Palm and I was told that the PalmIIIc does not ship without the cradle. I checked the Item code on the box and sure enough it was the same as what I had originally ordered for $30.00 less. I then spoke to the "Manager" of Compusavers and he tries to tell me that that is why his people call the customer (a call that I never got)to make sure that they understand that the cradle is extra. Because MANY people buy the unit without the cradle. Check the website. Where does it say that the cradle is extra? How do you recharge it without the cradle? This is FALSE ADVERTISING as far as I am concerned. I'll let the credit card company deal with them.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 13, 2001

The Palm IIIc is one of the best that palm have, a lot of applicattions and the color sistem, but beware of where you´re buying the pda specially of compusavers.net cause you can pay overnight or next day shipping and they ship when they want to and if yuo call the employees are very rude and they dont know nothing about it I emailed 3 times and nothing.
    Best Pda, Worst online store

    Have yourself a Palm

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 9, 2001

The Palm IIIc is a great product. It's like having a mini notebook with you at all times. The color screen is sharp for its size. The colors are also great. Although the device comes with a 20MHz processor, it is a bit slow because it runs in color. However, there is a program called QuickBits that can speed up the device to its optimum performance.
Great product for its value. You'll be very satisfied to own one.

The best "in-color" bang for the buck.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 5, 2001

Resolution is a little grainy but overall color is really good. Battery life could be a little better but for those that Hotsync alot it isn't a problem.

    I'd buy it again!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 25, 2001

I really like the Palm IIIc for it's memory and easy to view color screen. Only one question: Is it worth the extray $130 for color? For me, yes, but, you may only need the Palm IIIxe. This PDA is fast, easy to use, and the brightness control helps for use in sunlight. Give it a try, I think you'll buy it.

    Onle ONE Small Problem

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 2, 2001

Overall I have been extremely happy with my choice in purchasing the PalmIIIC. It does everything I want with ease and speed. It's one drawback is in the sunlight, the solor screen which is normally a great feature, is very difficult to see. If you need to use your Palm say in the car often, it can be a real problem. Other than that - it's great!! P.S. Make sure to read the reviews of the people who give it a 1. Usually their problem is not with the Palm itself but the store they purchased it at. Don't let them sway your decision to buy this great item. It is a must have!

    Palm IIIc

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 31, 2001

The color screen is quite a bit better than the black and white, and everyone I have talked to finds the screen much easier to read. As for its other specs, it is essentially identical to the palm V, though not quite as "sleek." Comparing it to the Compaq or to the Casio is silly, since they cost $150 more. After seeing every current plam OS product out there, I still think it is the best deal for the money.

    Compusavers.net..Bait and Switch???

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 17, 2001

Be cautious when comparing prices at Compusavers.Net. I ordered on-line, a Palm IIIc and the PDA is excellent for my wife's use. However, after I ordered the Palm, Compusaver called me and asked if I wanted the cradle also.Their add strongly suggests that you are ordering the IIIc complete..guess what..you're not. The saleperson will call you the next day and suggest you might want the cradle (try using the IIIc without one. I'll order my next "stuff" elsewhere...its never been more true, "Let the buyer Beware" when ordering from Compusavers.Net

I think this is best system ever. If you get the keyboard to match you will have a mini laptop. I write my class notes, keep track of my expenses, and important dates all on one system. The color makes it fun as well. I think everyone needs this palm in their life.

    great Palm PDA in color

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 8, 2000

Palm's first color PDA. It basically IS the Palm IIIxe, with a very sharp color screen. If you want a color option (which unfortunately DOES drain batteries faster) and want a Palm-brand PDA, here ya go.

    IIIc Hits the Mark, Mostly

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 24, 2000

I am a long-time Palm user. I've owned a PalmPilot Professional, a Palm IIIx, and a Palm V. The Palm IIIc continues to offer the ease of use and form factor that Palm devotees find appealing.

The color display in the Palm IIIc represents a new-found strength and a couple of minor annoyances. It's great to have the enhanced readability and usability intrinsic to color displays. However it comes at the cost of the run-forever battery life that has been a traditional Palm strength. Furthermore, the display does suffer from glare problems in a few instances.

Poor customer service at Premier System

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 22, 2000

I ordered a Palm Pilot at Premier Systems to be delivered somewhere in Miami. On their site, they say that orders placed before 6:00PM are shipped the same day. Despite the fact that I chose Next Day Air shipping, I had not received the product five days after. I sent them an email about my order status. They never replied...
