Palace of Tears
Note:
Paris, 1868. In a tiny shop among the hollow arcades of the Palais Royal, Casimir de Chateauneuf, a successful vintner, discovers a miniature portrait of an ivory-skinned woman with haunting eyes: one blue, the other yellow. That night, as the painting stares at him from his bedside, Casimir dreams of a sobbing woman whose tears fill an empty fountain.

That same night, in a distant land, a young woman dreams of Casimir. A woman with extraordinary eyes, one blue, the other yellow.

Obsessed by his dream, Casimir begins a quest to find the woman in the portrait. His journey leads him across desert and sea, from the Royal Court in Paris to the sultan's palace in Istanbul. Against the backdrop of the legendary opening of the Suez Canal, as East meets West, two people whose worlds are impossibly far apart are about to discover their destiny and a love beyond their shared dreams.
