    Can not compete with the Hauppauge MediaMVP

    Pros: PCMCIA slot for 802.11b/g, digital out, AVI support

    Cons: Play list sorting is chaotic, Level 2 support is non-responsive, initial machine required replacement, requires re-flash to upgrade software

    This box is similar to the Hauppauge MediaMVP, with additional features such as web browsing and AIM support. However, for what I intend to use it for, TV playback and music, if falls WAY short of the Hauppauge in easy of use and functionality. The s...erver side software is continually running the CPU updating tag files for video playback. This cpu utilization is competing with the recording of new shows. The MediaMVP, reads the files in the order you record them on the drive, drills through sub directories... The Prismiq uses play lists that it reorganizes into a mess.The worst part is that the original unit I bought did not work. Level 1 support responded quickly, and decided that the unit needed to be replaced. They hand off to level 2 support that has given me no response for a week and a half after emailing and calling.Do yourself a favor and buy the Hauppage at less than half the cost. Read more Less
