Onegin (Fiennes) is a bored, unaffected St. Petersburg aristocrat who inherits his uncle's large estate. When he rejects the advances of his neighbor Tatyana (Tyler), her sister's fiance considers this an offense worth fighting over. In a senseless, tragic duel, Onegin prevails. Six years later, Onegin returns to St. Petersburg and is reintroduced to Tatyana. This time, he falls helplessly in love with her and discovers, crushingly, that she has already married and has no intention on reciprocating his emotions. Fienne's debut as a feature film director is aided greatly by Adefarasin's cinematography, brother Ralph's performance, and Tyler's mere appearance.     I am not a person that likes so much romance but Pushkins Eugene Onegin had quite astonoshed me.The film was much more amazing although not exactly same as the book but the performances from the actors and actress are really great.I recomand this boo...k to everyone who has some time and money for it ;).     I viewed the so called movie 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love with it I never read the book as I'm not much into books but can only imagine the story of this intriguing man with whom i was captivated by as I am a lover of romance/drama har...sh as it was, was by far if not the best movie I have ever seen. I have tried so hard to purchase this movie here in new zealand but have not been successful in doing so. I will buy this movie over the internet if need be but just need to know exchange rates from america to us currency I must have this movie as I will treassure this for the rest of my life I will go broke if I have to bit much I know I'm serious ok. The whole cast was amazing but especially Ralph Fiennes as I love him dearly the most amzing guy ever,need I say more. Read more Less
