One of my favorite Christmas movies

2. The Homecoming
3. One Magic Christmas
4. Christmas Eve.

Pros: Great acting --- Great ending.
Cons: Daddy gets murdered on Christmas eve?!?
What kind of sadist writes a Christmas story in which Daddy gets murdered on Christmas eve?!? Yet, despite that "minor" anomaly, this is one truly classic Christmas story. Casting, acting, writing, directing, photography, and editing are nothing less than superb. Harry Dean Stanton's typically understated angelic performance cannot be overstated. Don't miss this one.

I saw this movie in the theaters when it came out in late 1985. I searched for it on Video (pre DVD) and found it and its a movie I will always watch at Christmas. That scene when the little poor neighbor girl gets that much wanted bike is great. One to show my kids when I have some.

I don't know if i agree with chickenpunk that it's one of the greatest ever but it does show you the true value of christmas and is a great movie to watch with the family.
