From AMG Reviews

Recorded in the midst of the Merseybeat boom, On the Move was Adam Faith's very successful attempt to adapt to the new sound that the British public wanted to hear. In place of the John Barry Seven, he was now backed by the Roulettes, a first-rate Hertfordshire outfit that comprised Russ Ballard on lead guitar, Peter Thorpe on rhythm guitar, John "Mod" Rogan playing bass, and Robert Henrit on drums. Thus, the songs all have that updated mid-'60s sound, with paired guitars chugging and chiming along and Faith's lead vocals supported by harmony singing and call-and-response choruses. The result isn't quite a lost classic -- this record wasn't a match for With the Beatles, though it is comparable to, say, It's the Searchers or How Do You Like It, and it is a very good British Invasion-style record from an artist whose reputation didn't seem to encompass that sound. Chris Andrews, late of Chris Ravel the Ravers, provided 14 songs (including two, "Don't You Dig This Kind of Beat" and "I Do," previously covered by Andrews' former group). Some of it is first-rate music, including the catchy "Come Closer" (which is one of the few heavily orchestrated tracks here), "I Gotta Get Going," "Here's Another Day," "This Is the Feeling," and "It'll Never Happen to You," all of which rate as solid Merseybeat-style pop/rock, worthy of, say, Gerry the Pacemakers or the Searchers of the same period. A few sides, especially those orchestrated by arranger Johnny Keating, sound more like throwbacks to Faith's old sound, but they're also worthwhile, if not quite as exciting as what surrounds them.
