Synopsis: On Her Majesty s Secret Service (1969)

In this stand-out 007 adventure, Bond again faces off with Ernst Stavro Blofield (his formidable enemy from YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, played here by Telly Savalas rather than Donald Pleasance). In this stand-out 007 adventure, Bond again faces off with Ernst Stavro Blofield (his formidable enemy from YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, played here by Telly Savalas rather than Donald Pleasance). This time, the super spy is infiltrating Blofield's installation high in the Swiss Alps. The Austalian-born George Lazenby briefly but amply fills Connery's shoes as he finds himself kilted and surrounded by a gorgeous and sex-starved gaggle of women on retreat. Diana Rigg (THE AVENGERS) plays James Bond's love interest and becomes his only wife in the history of the series. Although Lazenby is not one of the more famous Bond actors, ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE remains appreciated for its relatively gritty and angst-ridden tone. In fact, many true connoisseurs consider it to be the best film in the series.

Far up!! Far out!! Far more!!

007 get's a new look with Lazenby taking over and doing a fine job. This film has the best teaser ( pre-credit feature ) of all the Bond films in my opinion. Watching Bond chasing Tracy in his car and then rescuing her from the ocean is superb as is J...ohn Barry's music. Then the scene is topped off with an excellent fight scene on the beach. Telly Savales makes a beleivable Blofeld and Diana Rigg is always convincing. Ski and bobsled chases are the best ever made. I still find this Bond as one of my favorites. Read more Less

    EMOTIONAL AND THRILLING

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 6, 2002

It is so emotional. Tracy is such a fantastic character I hated to see her go. Now you know why Bond is bent on taking down the bad guys. It was so thrilling and the angels of death. oh what a nice touch. Tracy was perfect in the role and the man who... played bond wasn't the best but that doesn't matter. It was really good and a very important movie in bond history. Read more Less
