Far up!! Far out!! Far more!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 10, 2003

007 get's a new look with Lazenby taking over and doing a fine job. This film has the best teaser ( pre-credit feature ) of all the Bond films in my opinion. Watching Bond chasing Tracy in his car and then rescuing her from the ocean is superb as is John Barry's music. Then the scene is topped off with an excellent fight scene on the beach. Telly Savales makes a beleivable Blofeld and Diana Rigg is always convincing. Ski and bobsled chases are the best ever made. I still find this Bond as one of my favorites.

    EMOTIONAL AND THRILLING

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 6, 2002

It is so emotional. Tracy is such a fantastic character I hated to see her go. Now you know why Bond is bent on taking down the bad guys. It was so thrilling and the angels of death. oh what a nice touch. Tracy was perfect in the role and the man who played bond wasn't the best but that doesn't matter. It was really good and a very important movie in bond history.

    EXCELLENT!!

Considering this was Lazenby's first stab at acting, he does very well (the emotional ending is not bad at all). He simply plays his own version of Connery's portrayal. This film is a firm favourite with the fans.

the only reason i own this movie is bc it is a bond movie. I will consider him, as well as most people, the worst bond ever.

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service

O.H.M.S.S. is easily one the best of all the James Bond entries and the DVD edition displays this glowingly. It is a beautifully shot film with some of the best fight sequences ever committed to celluloid. Peter Hunt's direction is top class, screenwriter Richard Maibaum has kept wonderfully close to Fleming's best book and John Barry creates one of his greatest musical scores [and that's saying something].
Diana Rigg is the ultimate Bond girl - independent, liberated - well ahead of her time. But best of all is an astounding performance from George Lazenby. Unfairly criticized at the time of release, he actually brings a human depth and vulnerability that no one else has ever achieved with Bond. After lackluster and bored performances from Connery in Thunderball and You Only Live Twice it is actually a blessing in disguise that he was not around to do O.H.M.S.S. A 007 masterpiece!

    the road less travelled

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 21, 2001

Yeh, it's not the same old Bond flic, but that's what differentiates it and that's why I like it so much. The Bond character is based on the life of a British secret service agent who lived and served during WWII, and I think Lazarbe played Bond more like this guy might have really been. Also, the Alps cinematography is a treat.

    Not bad for an Ausie!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 13, 2000

IT was an overall ok movie. George Lazenby who had not one drop of british accent in his blood did Ok. But like the past reviews, it is said to be the unrespected one or the forgotten one.
    I rate it a4.

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service

This movie was very well done for 1969, but I disliked Lazenby as Bond. He had no taste whatsoever, and his Australian accent ruined the part. The only good thing about him was that he got a good babe, and he showed absolutely no mercy. It was pretty cool when he chucked that guy off the cliff! Blofeld had no scar over his eye, and the ending was bad, and none of the big bad guys died.

    best of the bonds

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 24, 2000

but largely forgotten because Lazenby (who unlike Connery/Moore did most of his own stunts) quarelled with everyone and did no more movies, hence no agents promoted it. It is the best acted and most "sensible" of the series with far less meaningless pretentions in casinos and suchlike. Dianna Rigg is simply dazzling as the best of the Bondettes by far, and Telly is the best of the Blofelds.

    The Forgotten Bond Movie

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 23, 2000

Widely forgotten or dismissed by the Bond community as not being a true Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service attempts to address some of the personal aspects of James Bond. The film has the same pointless plot of Bond saving the world from a crazed SPECTRE agent, a plot that the world has come to love, yet it combines that similar storyline with Bond's attempt to fall in love. Many feel that this film is a failure because it tries to explore the emotions of a two dimensional character, but in fact that is the movie's strong point. It provides the same action which has sustained the series while showing what motivates and alienates Bond at the same moment. It is a good Bond movie and a good movie in general, but it does differ from any of the other Bond movies and that is possibly why it is looked down upon.
