   4 of 4 Yahoo! Users found this Olympus Camedia C-4040 Zoom review helpful I replaced my C 3000 with the 4040. The advantages like the 1.8 lens and neat menu selection process are very nice features (over the 3000) but I'll see if it was cost effective (read this as a compliment to the C3000).
   As for the 4 magapexels... I like having the option of cropping my pictures and still having enough (pixels) to produce good enlargements. I think the optics "run out" before the photos start to pixelate.
   All in all I like the Oly C series with all the options and controls they offer and would have no problem recommending them.
   Trying to get a good price was the biggest trick. Be carefull of the 'I'vegotthelowestprices.com' places in NY city offering great bait & switch. If you don't purchase accessories at 200 to 400% markup you go to the backorder wasteland never to be heard from again. Standard MO. These stores give "Yahoo shopping" a bad name. I did however find a great place, with good pricing on cameras and accessories,try cameta.com ...

   Pros: quality pictures

   Cons: not good for actions shoots

   I love this camera. A gift to me a 2 1/2 years ago - my first digital. I do not consider myself a "techie" and found this camera easy to use. In time I have learned some of the useful features. I found that I take tonnes of pictures a year now and my pictures are getting better! It has taken some great natural shoots of northern lights and hummingbirds.
   
   Only con - it is hard to catch small children in it, because it takes a couple seconds to open up and a couple of seconds to take the shoot in dark lighting. ...
