Pros: it is a camera
Cons: cheap MFer
paid $450 for it new, it worked fine for about a few months, and then the front lens slide cover broken off for no apparent reason (never dropped or mishandled). The slide cover enables the on/off switch for the camera without it, the camera is worthless. Could not be fix for less than $550 from Olympus. Geek squad said $ 250-300. As for the other features of it, menu is difficult to use, hard type to sync with new PC, and learn a whole new icon language - this one is BAD. STAY AWAY from.
Pros: Its all good
Cons: Getting to know the camera
For the money it is a great camera. You do need a better memory card like 256 or 512.
Pros: packed with features
Cons: takes time to master all the features
I own several cameras, including a Nikon D-100, but was looking for something that I could carry in my pocket for casual shooting. This camera knocked my socks off! All-metal body, clamshell cover that protects the lens, many manual and automatic shooting options, and an astounding 6.1 mg. in a palm-sized package. I particularly love the aperture-priority, shutter-priority, and manual settings, along with white balance, over- and underexposure, and flash intensity adjustments. Also, the lag time between pressing the shutter and taking the picture, which always drove me crazy on other point-and-shoots, is fairly fast on this one. The rechargeable battery lasts a long time, too. I can usually shoot a 64 mg. card or two before having to recharge.
Pros: Great for moving "still photo's
Cons: many, many uses and gadgets to use and understand
I have owned my camera since December and I love it, I was driving down a highway at 70mph and wanted to take a picture of a beautiful seaside shot and low and behold it was a great still image of this seaside ocean wave. Love it and highly recommend buying if you have the patience to learn it...
Pros: Can't think of any.
Cons: Poor battery life.
I have had the C-60 for roughly 3 months but did not use it till this past week. At the time of purchase, via the net, I also bought an extra battery, giving me one Olympus and one generic battery, and a 512 XD card -- which would have given me ample frames with normal battery lives.
Both batteries were fully charged when I began taking pictures.
The Olympus battery lasted through 12 frames?? I inserted the generic...it lasted 13 frames. What gives, surely this camery would not have the great user ratings if everyone had the same experience?
Pros: Loaded with features, Excellent image resolution, Smaller and cheaper than an SLR
Cons: Manual comes on a CD
This is a great camera for people who enjoy photography but may not want to spend the big bucks on an SLR package, but still want more control over their images than the basic point-and-clickers allow.
The camera has modes that allow you to set the aperature and shutter speed manually, and there is some control over the focus mechanism (including a macro mode). There are tons of other great features too that you don't find in basic digicams--the ability to raise or lower the flash intensity, manually effect the white balance, bracket-shooting at different exposure levels, record sound clips with pictures, even record movies. I'm sure there are more features I haven't discovered yet.
That leads to the major drawback with the camera--no manual! The manual on the CD hardly helps when I'm trying to figure out how to take a picture during my travels. So many of the features will go unnoticed unless you make it a point to read the manual and memorize the features! Olympus should make it easier on its customers.
The camera is also a bit larger and heavier than more basic point-and-clicks, but thats the price you pay for the great features and image quality. Its still way smaller and more compact than an SLR camera.
Overall, an excellent buy for photographers.
Pros: a lotta bang
Cons: as with most digitals- you need to buy more stuff
it's a solid working camera. as a real estate broker I usually leave the camera in my briefcase and average over 100 photos a week.
Size compact- i found other comparable models that fit well in a pocket & same price range difficult to steady when shooting;, solid lens protection, high 6.1MP, and the remote control the "sun-roof feature I was looking for (once you have it you don't want to do without). Not bad for $429.99 @ costco.
Cons- are really standard to all digital cameras that I've found. Plan on investing another $150- for a 256MB card (i opted for the 512mb which holds about 350 pics), case (so you don't scratch the viewer, & extra battery; a mini tripod is another great investment especially for use with the remote, about $20-. one's pays a bit more for the digital video that will probably not be used if you own some other camcorder- but better to have than have not. This should get you thru to the next major evolution of technology.
Pros: Great pics for large prints
Cons: Too many features, a bit complex
I bought this camera and used it for 4 months, close up option - didn't figure it out, and also for anything else I had to go back and look up at the little booklet that came along. I'll say it's great camera for large prints but a bit complex since it has too many other features.
I returned it and getting something a bit simple, maybe with less megapixels.
Pros: Build and Picture Quality, Compact
Cons: Takes a 30 sec to get ready for first picture with a large video card.
I have owned this camera for about 3 months now. I am still learning how to get the most out of this camera but I can say the pictures it produces are amazing. Although it shows that it can take macro pictures I have a hard time on getting it to focus on anything less then 1 ft. Other then that It is a great camera. I highly recommend it.
