Foregoing the 17-track lineup of the original LPs, this best-of volume of the Oldies but Goodies series offers a paltry 11 cuts to the classic rock roll and RB faithful. At a bargain-basement price, though, this might not be such a bad thing, especially considering the inclusion here of Dee Dee Sharp's "Mashed Potato Time" and Preston Epps' "Bongo Rock." But, seriously, there are grade-A hits to be found, like Dion's "The Wanderer," the Beach Boys' "Surfin' Safari," and Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba." A brief yet fun spin of well-worked nostalgia.
