the movie was much better than the book.
this movie is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!its entertaining and also sad.gary sinise plays an exellent role.not to metion hes very handsome and sexy!!!!!!!!!
This movie is a wonderful adaptation of John Steinback's novel. Also, it has the most suitable actors any other film could get-very well acted especially by the two lead men; Malkovich and Sinise, and very well directed by Sinise.
Being only 14, its pretty hard for me to recognize a good movie if it doens't have meaningless action... that that is not the case with this movie. From the first minute of the movie i was drawn in. It appeals to many people, all ages. Gary Sinise and John Malkovich both give solid performances, and seem to have really good on-screen flow together. Overall, this gets a 10 out of 5 in my book, :). You can pass this movie up!
Yea i just wanna say this story, Of mice and Men
is a supreme classic. I loved the book (and i don't
like too many book) and the movie was done good too.
BUt the story I am rating by the review because the
plot line is so very thick that kept me so attached to
the book ending up just really liking it. So yea I
give it *****.
Because of the great story line of
a Little guy and his Insane Monsterous Cousin.
i;ve just finished reading the book. I feel the book is excellent and this film is shabby.
It lacks the 'Zing'the book has
I thought the Movie was a very interesting story. I was very detailed about the movie stars. I really really injoyed it.
If you watch the movie, you will love the book. I suggest to read and then watch the video. The actor are great in the movie.
I think that the book Of Mice and Men was an interesting book that has alot of meaning of the time that it took place. I haven't seen the movie yet but I want to. I read the book for my american lit. class and I thought it was going to be a boring, dull book but it was a cool and educative book. I give the book a number 5 rating.
I HAD TO READ OF MICE AND MEN IN MY CLASS THEN WE HAD TO WATCH THE MOVIE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A GREAT MOVIE!!
I had to read this book and sit through the film; they made me while I was doing my A levels! While the book is a powerful and evocative portrayal of depression era America with all it's prejudices and inequality, the film is just dull. Not one of the performances is remotely credible (shame on you John Malkovich!) and the direction is as lame as poor ol' Curly. A subject matter such as this really deserved a better film; file alongside Titanic...
This remake of Steinbeck's classic pales in comparison to the Burgess Meredith, Lon Chaney Jr. version. Even the Robert Blake, Randy Quade sixties offering had more heart. Malkowich doesn't make it as Lenny....His hands just aren't big enough.
The movie Of Mice and Men, was really good. The actors really brought the book to life. Reading the book was good, but seeing Lennie and George on screen really showed what the author, Mr.John Steinbeck, was trying to show, lonliness and companionship. Awesome movie, i suggest though if your watching it have tissues available.
I watched the video last night for the first time not actually having read the book (I plead my general disregard for American literature as my excuse - sorry!). The film was well acted (I thought Sinise in particular did a good job) and - I believe - stuck to the essentials of the story. I thought the script was a little heavy-handed in dealing with the main themes and the characters - apart from Lenny and George - didn't get a chance to really develop, although in some cases a little went a long way. Watching it on video, I felt that it was uninvolving, and the end, for me, lacked dramatic impact. However, it was generally well handled, and I would recommend it.
"Of Mice and Men" supplies enough pull of the heartstrings to last a decade. With moving portrayls of each character, Senise's dirctorial debut supplys action and meaning to the award winning novel, written by John Steinbeck. Malkovich deliveres a Oscar nominated performance as the mentally challenged character, Lenny, that lies in direct contrast to the powerful wit of Senise's character George. Interaction between the two creates beloved comedy as well as stirring tragedy. From the gentle fables of dreams to come told by dusty roadsides to the sockfilled tear jerking ending, "Of Mice and Men" remains a masterpiece of modern movies.
I thought that this was a good movie, yet very sad. The actors were good, George was kind of cute, Lennie played great in his part. Oh, and I cried when they killed Candy's dog.
This movie was very touching and all should see it! It's a movie that made my eyes water.
this film was pretty crappy dont ya all think, did any one else think that lenny was gay!!
The movie is very emotional and moves at a good pace. You become attached to the characters but the directing is poor at crucial times.
