After a solo EP and an album that effectively chronicled his tormented final days with Hüsker Dü, as well as the rehab that followed, Grant Hart formed the punk-pop trio Nova Mob. Abandoning drums for the guitar, Hart's fine songwriting was on display on the group's debut, a rock opera called The Last Days of Pompeii.
