The movie lets you see the inside feelings of a hollywood star and the downfalls. It allows you to sense how falling in love feels ignoring all obstacles with Anna Scott's career. Thacker and Scott's friends give you a very complete feeling of the American dream of finding love and the circle of friends...very overwhelming...I fell in love with each and every actor in the film...just a must-see film. I wanted to meet the characters in the film and become part of it...wonderful!!!

All of us want a fairy tale and Notting Hill is one of the greatest fairy tales of the previous century. You've got everything in it -love and hope, ups and downs. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry. It's hillarious, but romantic. All of it - from the the idea to the acting and the producing - is great. I think it's a masterpiece.

Notting Hill is a romance movie for people who believe that love sees no boundaries. If you are a lover of the romance genre but looking for something a bit different please look no further. Julia Roberts captivates you once more with that magnificent smile portraying a role which she seemingly appears to relate to as the worlds most famous movie star, Anna Scott. Hugh Grant, her co-star, displays an authenticity difficult to duplicate. It is truly believable that he is just a travel book store owner, which is his role in the movie, and not the talented actor that he is. The setting for the movie is wonderful having taken place in London. Notting Hill portrays the worlds most famous movie star in a romance movie. It poses the question, can a famous star fall for the average guy on the street? Not only does this movie function as a wonderfully brilliant romance but it allows many to consider their own fantasies, just imagine a movie star falling in love with you. The absolute best part of the movie, 'The fame thing isnt real you know. After all, I am just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her' You really cant get much better than that. One can only dream of a love so pure. The first time I saw this movie I fell in love with it and I had to see it again. I couldnt even wait for it to come out on DVD, I went back to the movies to see it again. As for those famous desert island lists, if you were trapped on a desert island and could only have 10 DVDs what would they be. Well, I went to Australia for a while, a different regional encoding exists there, and I could not buy DVDs while I was there. Before I left, I immediately bought Notting Hill. I probably only took two romance movies with me. This movie and You've Got Mail, another wonderful romance with a twist that everyone should check out. This movie is a definite desert island DVD and all I can say is, if you believe in love and dont love this movie, there is something seriously wrong with you!

This moving has brought back so many memories for me that I just loved it. Do to the fact that I lived in England for several years. The shops and open markets was a joy to see. The movie was so wonderful. It has romance and tissue time too. I have seen it several times and also bought the DVD.
Julia Roberts plays a wonderful role in this and it is nice to see an actor worry about what people think of them, they are people too.
Hugh Grant does a wonderful job. Sometimes he acted like a little school boy which you don't see to often in men. It is nice to see that side of men once in a while. I would tell everyone who likes a good romance to enjoy this one.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoGood Movie Despite Of.....
Admittedly, Julia Roberts isn't all that hot but it could have been a much better movie if there were hot steamy sex scenes. Julia should have had a manage scene with the other cute chick in the wheelchair or the sister that looked liked the cookie monster.

I really enjoyed Notting Hill. Julia Roberts is superb, the soundtrack is lovely, and the ending is incredibly sweet and romantic. I am not a huge fan of Hugh Grant, but even he couldn't spoil this film for me. I only wish he'd learn to speak without swallowing all of his words. All in all a great romantic flick.

Hi to all...I think this movie is the best romantic movie I have seen. Very hillarious scenes and the romantic scenes were also done excellent. This movie made me smile, laugh, almost shed in tears and most of all, This movie really tought me a lesson about "true love" and how it can affect ones mind, if you loose it :(. The most emotional scene I thought was almost at the ending, where Julia is saying " I am just a girl standing in front of a boy and asking him to love me". This made me cry alomst but kept my tears inside. People can say a lot if you are famous, attractive, and can also make life hard to live but most of all, with someone who can love truely, sincerely and have a forgiving heart; Life will be always wonderful forever. True love never dies. I also found that all the soundtracks were well chosen. All I can say is this movie is just the best of the best and to those that didn't see it yet, You guys must see Notting Hill. To all of you, Don't hurt the one you love...it's going to hurt you back :)

A classic film, which brings out the true nature of Julia R.
The director has done some excellent cinematography too. (The market scene after the break up, when H.Grant walks to the shop).
A must see movie with good humor.
