Synopsis: North Country (2005)

Synopis: When Josey Aimes returns to her hometown in Northern Minnesota after a failed marriage, she needs a good job. A single mother with two children to support, she turns to the predominant source of employment in the region - the iron mines. The last thing the miners want is women competing for scarce jobs - women who, in their estimation, have no business driving trucks and hauling rock anyway. When Josey speaks out against the treatment she and her fellow workers face it takes her farther than she ever imagined, ultimately inspiring countless others, and leading to the nation's first-ever class action lawsuit for sexual harassment.

   This movie was really great. All the actresses and actors did a great job in this movie. You have got to see this.

   Pros: Great casting, strong story

   Cons: None

   So hard to believe this storyline actually happened less than twenty years ago...truly appalling.
   
   Charlize Theron portrayed her part flawlessly and the movie was careful not to man-bash so its definitely not a chick-flick. The assault and rape scenes were hard to watch but the end of the movie made me want to stand up and cheer for all the women out there who paved the way so that we can go to work and not have to worry about being sexually harrassed. Francis McDormand was absolutely incredible in the movie and the entire cast was perfectly put together to make the movie very believable.
   
   I laughed, I cried, Id see it again. ...
