    Love (most) of it!!!

Pros: Mp3 player and phone in one!

    Cons: Battery drains quickly.

I'm not a heavy cell phone user. In fact, I rarely use a cell phone at all except to get in touch with the wife and kids from time-to-time. So, I basically found this phone to satisify my needs because I don't have to carry around 2 units t...o listen to music and make that random call from time-to-time. Everyone complains about the battery life and rightfully so. It does burn up quicker than I previous phones I've had, but then again, I didn't use them very often because I rarely make calls. I use this often for the music player which is very good. Comes with a full gig of mini sd storage and it's upgradeable to a full 2 gigs which if more than enough for me. The ear piece on calls can be a little faint sometime so I find the hand-free option clearer for phone calls. Best thing about it is, everyone at my work thinks it's just about the coolest thing they've ever seen. I'm sure the next generation from Nokia will trump this model, but for now, it's the hottest thing on the shelf!!! Read more Less

    Great MP3 Phone....better price

By The Rated R Superstar .  Mar 16, 2007 | 10 out of 10 found this Nokia 5300 XPressMusic review helpful

Pros: 1.3 MP camera, comes w/ 1GB sd card ( 250 Songs), Speakers

Cons: bulky, feels like slider will break, Alarm Tone not Loud

I just bought this phone and I LOVE IT!!! It was only $60 w/ a two year plan w/ T-mobile. The Speakers are amazing, you can use the phone as a boombox. You can also use your headphones, but you need the attachment ( included ). Overall,,,,,,,,,,,GREAT... PHONE!!! Read more Less

    Really rocks!

By RudyH  Jul 12, 2007 | 5 out of 5 found this Nokia 5300 XPressMusic review helpful

Pros: Cool slide feature, player controls on outside, Sound quality for phone and MP3 player, just really COOL

Cons: some controls and settings tedious to get to

This little phone is awesome and I am really liking it so far. The sound quality on the phone itself and the MP3 player is what I would expect from something way more expensive. Really handy when it comes to syncing up with my laptop as a storage d...evice (comes with a 1 GIG mini sd) and NOKIA's PC suite software makes accessing the features on the phone pretty easy. Custom wallpaper, MP3 ringtone...from my own files- really like that. I have yet to experience the short battery life that apparently this model is known for but my usage may be less than that of the other reviewers. Great phone. Read more Less

    Nokia 5300

By Jona  Mar 10, 2007 | 3 out of 3 found this Nokia 5300 XPressMusic review helpful

Pros: GREAT style and outlook, first "music" phone sold by nokia

Cons: High price-it's too overrated, functions not entirely match the price

I hated Nokia phones before I saw this. Yet I fell in love with it. Nokia phones before looked strange and though my friends all said they're VERY USERFRIENDLY (It is for 5300), I still didn't buy it. However, once I saw its commercial I was ...captivated by its excellent looks. It has great functions, as I was told similarly with most Nokia phones. It is also a music phone, which you would like if you don't want to bring your Mp3 player all the time. The buttons at the side of the body is great for controls, and the sleek sliding design was great. My model is a red-white one, which is a great match. With all these functions, it's hard to resist. The only drawback is the high price tag and quite short battery life. I need to recharge it everyday, which is quite troublesome. All in all, it is still a great phone. One of the best Nokia phones i've ever seen, and i'm sure everyone will like it once they start using 5300. Read more Less

    Love the Phone!!

By Debbie L  Aug 31, 2007 | 2 out of 2 found this Nokia 5300 XPressMusic review helpful

Pros: Multi purpose in one device

Cons: Battery life is bad. Had problems with phone not ringing.

I've had this phone for about 8 months and I love it with 2 exceptions. The battery life is awful. If I use the MP3 player, I find myself needing to charge the phone twice a day. Since it appears that this is one of the major complaints of... the phone, an extended battery option would be nice. Also, I've had issues with using the timed profiles. I'll set it to my work profile, which is to vibrate, and when the profile expires (which it shows on the screen), I've had instances where the ringer does not come back on. The screen will display a call coming in, but there will be no ring tone. I have exchanged handsets and even upgraded the SIM from my old one (I've been a T-Mobile customer since 2002), and have had the same issues. My daughter has this phone and has experienced the same issue of the ringer not ringing. Read more Less

    You'll Love It

By Joey  Jul 10, 2007 | 2 out of 2 found this Nokia 5300 XPressMusic review helpful

Pros: Nice design, easy to use, good music player.

Cons: Battery life seems below avearge

First, as a phone it's great. I can hear and be heard very clearly. The navigation key works fine, although may be tough for larger fingers. The phone is easy to hold and the slide feature is awesome. The camera is 1.3 megapixels, above average f...or cell phones and will do for those occasions when a real camera isn't handy for either still pics or video. The display, too, is above average in both size and resolution. The phone includes a 1 gig disk for storage and is upgradeable to 2 gigs. It also includes a USB cable for data transfer and is Blue Tooth ready. The music player is top notch, although you'll probably want to replace the earbuds that come with the 5300 (The phone comes with a headphone adapter jack). The browser is fine for checking news stories or sports scores and the messaging tools are good. Although I've seem some reviews to the contrary, there are several cases for the phone available on ebay. The only complaint I have about this phone is a slightly shorter than average battery life. Overall, the phone is quite impressive and I'm very happy with it. Read more Less

    Nokia 5300

By Colci  Jul 8, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Nokia 5300 XPressMusic review helpful

    Pros: Cute design, musicplayer,

    Cons: battery life, keys

I absolutely adore my Nokia 5300.It's adorable and it's a bit larger than other phones, which is good for me because I lose stuff very often. The music player has great sound, as does the speaker and ear pieces. I have, however, had some tro...uble with sticking keys. It seems that whenever I go outdoors in the heat OR near humidity/water, the keys stick or not work at all. Also, the battery life isn't too great. I'm a compulsive text-er, but it usually lasts about 1.5-2 days max. My last phone, the Samsung SGH-E635, kept a charge for ATLEAST 3 days if not more, and about the same texting rate. But then again that phone went swimming with the fishes. All in all, the Nokia 5300 is a good phone. Not great, but average. It's pretty durable, and rather adorable. Just watch out for the battery and keys. =] Read more Less
