    The British chanteuse Sandra Lawrence, who was once a singer with the French Glenn Miller Orchestra and who also performed as Miss Volare, with her own band, The Vendettas, here presents a wonderful collection of songs from or redolent of '40'...;s film noir. The voice, velvety and throaty, interprets the material with subtlety, honesty, and a very classy brand of sex appeal. You'll want to hear it again and again. The arrangements are jazzy, but not at the expense of the melodies. If you like traditional popular music, jazz singing, or film noir, you must have this album. Read more Less

    Pros: Sexiest music ever

    Ms. Lawrence performs her material flawlessly with sensuous excitement throughout. What is most puzzling is that Ms. Lawrence has not seemingly performed as a main singer on any other recording before or since this one. She created an indelible and i...ncredible offering here, and it should not be missed. I would rate "Noiresque" as one of the top 25 recordings of all time. Read more Less
