    Truly a unknown classic!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 8, 2002

Andy Griffith is such a talented actor. I remember when I loved watching his show, but soon heard about this movie. I loved every minute of it! This is so funny, there are so many lines and scenes that just crack me up! PLO! GOLLLEEEE!!!

I am 25, but this movie is so funny, and so do a lot of friends my age also agree. I don't know if Andy did any other movies, but this has to be his best.

I strongly recommend this. I'm 25, I remember seeeing this movie when I was 15 and loved it and still do!

    Check it out!!!

    All Time Calssic

Andy Griffith in a great role as asouthern boy drafted into the Air Force during the cold war soon after WWII. Funny from the start and never lets up. Silly at times but funny nonetheless. I'm sure it was when he was doing this role that he thought up Gomer Pyle and Barney Fife. Classic, one of the all time great flicks.

If you're feeling low and want to laugh, laugh, laugh, this is the one to see. Lucky you, if you've never seen it before. It is a gem. It's Andy Griffith as he was in his wonderful days as a new star.

Nice start, but the rest boring

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 17, 2000

Andy Griffith does a decent job in his "country bumpkin" role, but after about a half hour it gets a little old. It is almost as if the writer of the plot got tired and rushed through the last half of the movie. There are some funny parts, but much of it is over-acted and predictable.

Andy playing Gomer, but with better comedic timing. Can you laugh at something besides obscenities and sexual inuendo? Check it out. If not, check it out right now--you're in for a surprise treat. Laugh-out-loud funny from top to bottom.
