   ninja scroll is an excellent movie it has everything. The lead character has all the qualities of a warrior and should be a role modle to anyone{except the fact hes a cartoon} high flying action, crazy evil villins and great samari style fight scenes this is good for anyone who likes martial arts

   After reading various good reviews and hearing a lot of good things, I decided to go watch Ninja Scroll, probably the first anime movie I ever watched. Sadly, I really don't think it's that hot. First of all, it just kind of jumps from place to place and before you know it, wham! 20 guys get cut in half by this rock-golem dude. There were cool scenes, like the sword-fighting scene, but the "romance" in the story is at best mechanistic and at worst non-existent. There's a lot of gratuitous sex scenes, for those of you so inclined, but be advised that they're rather pointless and don't really much tie into the story, which is confusing enough. The end of the movie wasn't exactly "Star Wars epic", either, as it hit with more of a fizzle than a bang, as all that larger-than-life heroic action throughout the movie might indicate. If you like DBZ (which I didn't--I tolerated it), then you'd probably enjoy this, but I guess I'm looking for 'plot' as opposed to a b.s.u. anime (blow S*** up). ...
