Pros: Size, Weight, Image Quality, Design and Price
Cons: NONE
The D80 camera is terrific, easy to use, variety of accessories, lenses and very comfortable in size, about the same as the D200 but the price is lower. It is a beauty, very happy to have a Nikon D80.
Pros: very good
Cons: expensive
I was amazed to hadle this camera first it time came to my hand. I got breathtaking results of birds and wild life. The results with 70-300 mm VR lens are extremely good even when I was moving in a boat or on elephant back in Kaziranga one horn rhino sanctuary. Colour and resolution quality is superb. I was using previously Nikon film camera hence it took time to adjust with this D80 because the battery is on left so there was tendency that the hirizon used to come tilted due to one side being slightly heavier. Secondly due to poor electrical contacts in body or lense or lenses barrels the camera use to stop working. I got over this problems by fiddling the lens in circular way very very slightly. The electronic Nikon remote
ML-L3 is not working with this camera hence tripod use for low light levels is not possible. Overall this one of the finest camera I used so far.
Pros: Argonomy, motor in the body, very fast and precise Autofocus, 9 points of AF,
Cons: bit plastic - and it gets sensitive with ISO over 800 but with some specific lenses it can be reduced, I heard it's matrix gets dusted at times and the body doesn't have auto-cleaning system
first i was going to get Canon 450D - but I found it looking like more entry level and very light weight body - Then when I saw Nikon D80 I decided that photography will be something I want to grow in to - and found out that D80 offers more professional features and more opportunity to grow up in this sphere. The reason i stopped myself on Nikon is first that the lenses are better quality. D80 has very good precise autofocus and very good shortcuts for making the settings - it saves time when you want to capture realy good fast moment, like capturing birds and bugs that move all the time and next moment you may want to do macro - rthe switch between the modes becomes faster and saves time...
I would recommend this cam and also its next brother (D90) to everyone that wants to grow into photography - one thing i will state with big attention - D80 is not like D60 and its not like D40 - because I see lot of incompetent ppl compare the cams and give silly online advices like "dont buy D80 - better buy D40" of course you decide but if you want to dive into photography - come on! - D80 is already much more professional photography level camera yets its from the same class - but goes to much more higher level with all the new features it has
Pros: Vip
Cons: chup het say
that la mon qua thu vi
Pros: Build quality, highly configurable
Cons: Matrix metering tends to overexpose
There isn't much I don't like about this camera - the number of cons is close to zero.
Matrix metering is something that might disappoint you at first, but only if you don't understand what it's doing. If you get to know the camera, the D80 is one of the most reliable DSLR's you can imagine.
