    Excellent Entry Level DSLR

By jr  Sep 7, 2008 | 12 out of 13 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: Self Cleaning Sensor, Easy to use, Great Results

Cons: No Auto Bracketing Feature, Limited to AF-S or IF lenses,

Overall this is a great entry level DSLR. I have gotten great results with it and have seen a substantial improvement in my photography. The fact that I am limited to lenses that have internal focusing built into them (AF-s or IF lenses) is a bit ann...oying, but there are so many lens choices available, even third party companies such as sigma, make compatible lenses for the nikon D60 that this is becoming less of an issue. The self cleaning sensor is also a very good feature of the D60. Read more Less

    Great camera

By Soonerfan  Dec 28, 2008 | 10 out of 11 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: Easy to use and everything else

Cons: Husband hates his picture taken

Got this as a Christmas present and have already filled a 4gb memory card. Can't quit taking pictures. Can't wait to try it out at my kids sporting events. And the quality of picture is just spectacular. I love this camera. Can't find any...thing I don't like about it. And the place where my husband bought gives free classes to help you learn even more about the camera. Read more Less

    First DSLR

By Nick Chill  Jun 23, 2008 | 7 out of 7 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: Ease of use, Great photo quality, Durability

Cons: Slower shooting speed than higher end models

This camera has been wonderful. It's incredibly easy to use, for a beginner, but has tons of features and great photo quality to benefit professionals as well. The camera is small and lightweight, making it great for field photography. In my expe...rience, it is also durable, surviving being dunked in a Creek while backpacking in Yosemite. Read more Less

From a joe-sixpack family cam to this!!!!!!

By Paul  Jul 11, 2008 | 8 out of 10 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

    Pros: Many features, fine resolution

    Cons: Haven't found any yet

Taking food shots for years through an expensive but not serious family-style point-n-shoot was fun but frustrating. The D60 is unbelievable to use. i can shoot in RAW, Fine jpg, and normal, which gives me options to shoot huge, convert to .tif, and ...edit in photoshop CS2. doesn't get any better than that Read more Less

    Amazing Camera

By Sheila B  Aug 8, 2008 | 5 out of 7 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: image quality, shutter response, features

    Cons: pricey

I bought this camera because I have experience with Nikon cameras. I had two Coolpix models:4300 and S5, but I lost the 4300 and the S5 just doesn't do it for me. The S5 flash is lousy and the image quality is really bad. I have tried everything!... Plus, I always get blurred photos from time to time, regardless of what I do. That red hand is always warning me not to shoot even if it's sitting on a table. I hate it! I travel a lot and I needed something relaible, so I bought the D60 for an early birthday present and I simply adore it. I can depend on this camera. Even though I only use it in the automatic mode I still love it! The VR lense helps with my shaky hand and I love the in camera settings. I bought two filters and it came with another lens (55-200mm). So, now I am excited when I take pictures. I jsut came home from Europe and I have some really good photos, even though some were blurred. I love it! Read more Less

    Awesome Camera

By Tootty  May 23, 2009 | 3 out of 3 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: Easy to use, great pictures, & just the right size.

    Cons: A lot of money.

This is my first Nikon, I had been using my mothers D80 so it wasn't hard to figure out how to use the D60. It takes amazing pictures. They are all very clear. This is a great camera for beginners. I'm very happy with it.

    Great Camera!

By JudyCoug  Jan 29, 2009 | 3 out of 3 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: Lightweight and Easy to Use

    Cons: None so far

I got this camera for Christmas, as well as a Canon EOS Rebel XT (the husband and parents obviously didn't communicate). I love the graphic display for the shutter speed and aperture...it really helps a beginner get used to how those features wor...k. I've had nothing but amazing pictures from this camera, and I'm looking forward to the summer when I can get some better shots. Read more Less

    Great camera! I love it!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 24, 2009 | 2 out of 2 found this Nikon D60 (Black) review helpful

Pros: Beautiful pictures, ease of use, lightweight

Cons: Must buy AF-S lenses (internal focusing)

I bought this camera 6 months ago and it's already been in 4 countries. It preforms wonderfully in all conditions and the results speak for themselves. It's lightweight and durable which makes it fantastic for hiking. The only two things miss...ing from this model is an internal focus motor and more focus points (it has 3)...other than that I wouldn't change a thing. Now that Nikon came out with a DX prime lens f/1.8 35mm, I can take my photography to a new level with the D60. Read more Less
