A legendary, short-lived free jazz quartet of the '60s whose most acclaimed recording was their self-titled 1964 release on ESP. Consisting of saxophonist John Tchicai, trombonist Roswell Rudd, bassist Lewis Worrell, drummer Milford Graves, along with poet Leroi Jones (later known as Amiri Baraka) the group reunited in 1999 with bassist Reggie Workman taking the place of the late Worrell. The recording of that meeting, 35th Anniversary, was released the following year on the Japanese DIW label....
