    Pros: The Boys are Back and their voices sound better than ever! I have never heard such great songs! I can't wait till the cd comes out so I can hear all of the songs!

    Cons: There is nothing in the world bad about this cd!

    June 14th 2005 will be the day that the whole rest of the world (other then the brilliant fans who already know)realizes how talented the Backstreet Boys really are. I have only heard about 7 of the songs on the cd but they are all amazing. Incomplet...e their first single off Never Gone is one of the best songs ever, and thank god it is taking radio by storm.     Cons: wish the cd had more than 12 songs **boo hoo**

    Everyone deserves a break regardless who they are and what they do. Those of us who are not lucky enough to be celebs enjoy our holidays and our vacations from work. Parents enjoy those weekend getaways from the kids and vice versa. Taking time away ...from something that you are constantly around only improves the relationship in the long run and re-energizes you. That is what the guys have done. They took time off, did what they wanted and with a more than well deserved break, they are back, and it is hard to believe, but they are better than ever!!! I had the opportunity to catch their 'mini' tour in the spring and i was blown away at the energy they had on stage - just their band and them - no fancy lights, no dancers, no pyro - just them. The songs are more grown up, but still as much fun as anything they have ever done. If you are expect the Backstreet of old, you will have to listen to their 'old' cd's - this new set of music is absolutely wonderful. They still have the harmony that NO ONE ELSE can match. The ballads will still bring tears to your eyes and the upbeat songs are just that - upbeat and fun. Parents, you won't have to worry about lyrics that should not be heard by young ears like other Cd's on the market. The only bad thing I can say is that there should have been more than 12 songs cause I just can't get enough of the guys' voices. I can't wait until the summer tour!!!! If you don't want to be judge by your past, then don't do that to the guys - give them a chance, you won't be sorry. Read more Less

    When the Backstreet Boys said they planned on reinventing themselves on the new album, I wasn't sure to believe them. Some of the lyrics in the album Black & Blue were more mature, but the sound was all in all not that different from their previo...us album. In other words, "Never Gone" didn't have a lot to live up to. So I was really, really hoping that they were indeed going to change. Because I have grown up and I'm just not as interested in the old sound as I use to be. Thankfully the Boys were fully aware of this fact and knew that they needed a change. And that's just what they did. "Never Gone" is a lot more pop/rock, whereas there other albums were more pop/R&B. I'm so happy about this new direction because this is EXACTLY the kind of music I'm not interested in. No more heavily synthesized uptempos. And while that might be dissapointing to some, I think now that they're getting older they have to sound more mature. Unlike N'Sync, the Backstreet Boys focus more on their vocla sthan their dance abilities. That's why N'Sync always focuses more on uptempo dance numbers while Backstreet shines best through ballads. The ballads on "Never Gone" have a more rock edge than just simple sugary sweet ones they've had in the past. Plus they have a variaty of different types of "midtempos." Some are rock, some are more urban, some are a little pop. So this was perfect for them. It suits them better than just going for what's hot on the radio right now, like hip hop and R&B. I rated the album a 4 only because I know not all their fans are going to like the new music direction. In my opinion though, they made the best choice. And even if the Boys have low expectations, this album will surely not be a flop. Read more Less
