    Pros: Price

Cons: Screen visibility during daytime, Small screen

I pruchased a Magellan GPS for my wife and a week later purchased the Navigon 2100 for myself. The Magellan is much easier to use and program. I cannot see the screen of the Navigon 2100 during the daytime due to excessive glare. I have tried placing... the GPS on the dash mounting circle which came with the GPS, but I still cannot see screen in the daylight. The Navigon 2100 is fairly easy to program once you figure it out and it does a good job of getting you to your destination. Read more Less

    Pros: love the virtual sceen

Cons: no home depot or lowes in poi's

most gps owners i know are service techs, we use gps every day, not only to find our job location but to find suppliers such as Home Depot, Lowe's, plumbing supply houses ect. after buying my navigon 2100 i found a magellon for one hundred dollar...s cheaper that list all Home Depots, Lowe's, Graingers, Apex plumbing supply. i want to sell this navigon and buy a megellon. some things are nice about the navigon, but home improvments are a must. Pros: It do's what I need it for

    Cons: Small screen

The unit is ok screen too small but what I like about it is that when you come up the main highway split it shows you what the exit looks like. It has some down falls but what unit do's not have problems. I use it because I drive 48 states as a t...ruck driver and it leads me right too the door. And shows me what ramps on main interstates look like before I get too them. and the POS have all the info on them but needs too have truck stops in there too by names. Read more Less

    stay away!!!

    Pros: um...it's pretty?

    Cons: where do I start?

In the three days or so that this unit actually worked here are my thoughts. 1. Screen way too small really hard to type anything into it. 2. Menu system convoluted and difficult to use. Forget about using it while you drive. 3. Routing is insane! It... had me driving up and down the highway for no reason at all. Maybe it thinks that's funny. 4. Lots of points of interest. Unfortunately they all seem to be from the mid 1970's and don't exist any more. 5. Sloooow to acquire satellite signal. Oh! And the best one my unit decided to freeze on the "select your language screen" and now is stuck like that jno matter what I do to it. I called tech support and they said "yes that is a known issue but we haven't decided how we want to resolve it. We might be able to reinstall the firmware or we may want to replace the unit. We'll call you back in a week and let you know. Have a nice day". Well it's been two months now and I haven't heard a word. Apparently their resolution is to ignore the problem. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY!! You are really taking a chance when you buy one of their products. If it works, fine. If it doesn't you are out your money, they do not stand behind their products. But hey, don't take my word for it, look around at some of the user reviews on other sites. I am far from the only person they have done this to. Oh yeah, Navigon..."Have a nice day" Read more Less

    Pros: screen display

Cons: poor accuracy/low batter life/ traffic updates to slow

It's cheaper..price wise and quality wise. This thing has the WORST accuracy of any GPS. If you live in a small town with only one possible road to where you want to go, this thing is perfect. But if you live in a large city (I live near the Wash...ington DC area) this thing will take you all around the world. You'd be better off stopping and asking the drunk on the corner for directions. Sure, the graphics are pretty and it has plenty of bells and whistle to attract you to take it out of the store. but once you get it, you realize it does everything but what it's designed to do..take you from point A to Z. Instead it takes you by B,C, maybe even point F. I've tested it by using it to take me to places i already know how to get to and almost EVERYTIME it always takes me out of the way. When I used it to take me home from work, it took me through two toll roads I didn't even know existed. Stay away from this and stick with a trusted brand like Garmin or Tomtom. Read more Less

    Not worth it!

    By Mandy  Aug 27, 2009

    Pros: Relatively Easy to use

    Cons: peice of crap!

This was given to me as a gift. After six months, the unit would not even attempt to find a satellite, and then began to freeze at the start screen. I contacted technical services, who told me to send the unit to them with a prepaid label they would ...send me. After waiting two months, and requesting the label 10 times, each time they told me it would arrive in 48 hours, I finally paid to send the unit back. They kept it for 7 weeks and sent it back to me saying nothing was wrong with it, however when I tried to turn it on, it still froze. I had to contact service again, who led me through the steps of fixing it myself (why they didn't do this the first time, I don't know). Now a few months later, it again refuses to find a signal. Out of the 18 months I have had it, I have been able to use it for 9 of them. Not a good buy. Read more Less

    Pros: none

    Cons: everything

I went from a Garmin streetpilot to this unit. First thing is the text on screen is way to small. Second and most important is it should street names after you already go pass it. It also took me on a 6 mile extended route to destinations. Also the p...oints of interest is approx. 3 miles off. I was going passed a motel in my town and the screen had it as a McDonalds. Needless to say I went back to a Garmin and will never stray again. Do yourself a favor and just go for the cadillac instead of the Pinto. Read more Less
