Users found this Naked Lunch review helpful OKay people, if you want to sit through 2 hours of the most creative, mind bending, arsty(in a way you have never seen it before) movies, see naked lunch. This movie has managed to fascinate me,make me absolutely sick, and make me laugh until the point that my stomache aches in pain. A truly emotional and mind opening masterpiece, visually. cronenberg catches the attention of the audience with the first scene, and never lets you go until the credits are gone. The strange character design and scenery were mystifying enough to make me contiously pinch myself to see if I were dreaming. This my friends...is the stuff that only one could dream about, and it takes a talanted director(cronenberg) to take a "dream"-like idea like naked lunch and transfer it to film.
   
   HOWEVER, the storyline needed some work. ...The main character..was he intentionally emotionless or what? I was hoping that the human characters would have had more personality (those people being who the audience relates to most in a movie like this).
   Eventually, I began losing the plot: focusing on the imagery and artwork and less on the true value and meaning of what was being expressed.
   Still, this film SHOULD be viewed at least once in one's lifetime. It should be seen as art,and art is not exactly reflective of an ordinary human being's life (most of the time =) ).
   
   By the way, late night viewing recommended.

   This surrealistic film is just that. Burroughs' written masterpiece transfers surprisingly well to the big screen. I definintely recommend it.
