Ann Arbor, MIbased NOMO was conceived when University of Michigan jazz studies graduate and multiinstrumentalist (tenor sax, bass clarinet, electric mbiri, Fender Rhodes) Elliot Bergman and some of his acquaintances began jamming one night. This led to the eventual formation of the band, who soon released their selftitled EP in 2003 on Ypsilanti Records, followed the next year by a fulllength album of the same name.
