    Speed with No Reliability

    Pros: Nice Speed

Cons: Drops out under high load

I am not very pleased with Netgear cards Particulaly the FA311. While the card would be good for a workstation on an office network were it will most likely be under very little strain. Think twice about using it beyond this. I put this card in my ho...me Proxy server and low an behold if I started downloading a linux distro with any bittorrent client the card dropped it's connection. The card obviously can't handle haveing a large number of remote hits comeing from the many sources, a very poor card indead. To solve this problem I replaced it with a cheap generic Realtek card, which runs slower, but is entirely stable under the same conditions. It's very sad that the Realtek can be more stable.
