This album is a MUST HAVE for any Rhett Miller\Old 97's\Alt.Country fan. Recorded when Rhett was 18, this album was a premonition of what was to come in the future for Rhett, and music fans alike. At 18 Rhett did not have much to speak of on life exp...erience, which speaks volumes about Rhett's song writing abilities as the lyrics are sublime. Often they are what you would expect from a much older song writer. "Iron Child" is probably the best on the album, "Still They Sing" is my personal favorite, however. Despite what the original reviewer says about "Honey In My Tea," I happen to like the song. The random faux accent is kinda weird I will admit, especially for a Texan ;) It does, very slightly inhibit the beauty of the album, but I do not find it as a major detractor. This is not Rhett's absolute best work, however it is a very wonderful album indeed.At only 1000, hand-numbered, signed copies in existence, you will very rarely see this album for sale. Most owners are die-hard Rhett/Old 97's fans who, like me, would never part with the album in a million-gazillion years. Now and then you do find someone willing to sacrifice the album to the Used CD Gods. If you wish to own the album, you must be willing to make a sacrifice too, usually to the tune of $100+ !!!!!!! Yeah, its a lot of money. Yeah, you could spend that money on a lot of things (If you can't, send it to me). If you do see the album up for sale, buy it!! As Rhett's popularity increases the value will skyrocket. Read more Less
