    Unexpectedly charming movie

It's hard to say just what makes this film work, but it does, and there's no other quite like it. "THANK GOODNESS!", a lot of people might say, but love it or hate it, it's one of those movies everyone would be advised to check out once, to see which camp you fall into.

    The Best Super-Hero Movie Ever

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 29, 2000

My title says it all... it is simply the best super-hero movie ever.

    Huge disappointment

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 28, 2000

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Eddie Izzard - all very funny and some of my favorites. The premise is funny too - wannabe superheros trying to compete with real ones. The acting is not even that bad. So what's wrong with this movie? The script is horrific! There are a few funny lines, but there are also entire scenes where you feel the dialogue has just been left out. It appears that something went seriously wrong during the production, so they patched it together and released it anyway. Too bad... could have been good.

Silly , but dialogue ensures enjoyment

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 14, 2000

This is one silly movie but the dialogue which consisted mostly of satire kept me in the theatre. Claire Forlani, after Meet Joe Black I thought you had it made. Your sad eyes didn't quite fit this joke. But I guess every hero is in need of a pretty face. I hate those defenseless women crap. Super Boy, comprehending your power still eludes me. I was laughing all the way, except at Spleen, you irritating little fart.

    Excellent movie!

This movie really rules. I love movies where they make fun of people! (In this case, superhero movies!)

    Should be titled

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 27, 1999

I was really fired up about going to see this film. Unfortunately, this movie was, at best, disappointing.

I really love Ben Stiller and Janeane Garofalo, but the material was THIN.

    Too bad.

    Hey everyone...silent, but DEADLY!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 10, 1999

this is for those who "didnt have the time." i saw the previews for it all summer long and couldnt wait till it actually came out. just the idea of 'just WHO are these people,' "im invisible..." and "we're each others biggest nemessises" on previews made me laugh. (believe me, these were NOT the funniest parts in the movie, there ARE better ones) i saw it and had to see it again...and again...and again. it just gets better each time. heard it was childish? corny? crazy? yes, yes, and yes! but seriously, the humor & cool characters contradict these. & one or two previews and the ratings from critics just dont speak for the movie itself. GO AND BUY IT IN JANUARY! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! get a taste of the best oscar-quality film of '99! now i got all my friends and floor section (and anyone reading this) anticipating this one--they just cant wait to see what i have been talkin' about this whole time.

Funny, funny movie. Mother of all corn.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 27, 1999

I thought this was by far the best movie of the summer, and quite possibly the funniest movie I've ever seen. It's also quite possibly the corniest movie ever made. But you know what, that's a good thing. The characters are hilariously brilliant, and well-played. I recommend this to anyone who likes really corny humor and wants to be amused.
