A Truly Great Film
One of the best comedys of all time. One you can watch with your parents AND your friends. Performaces all around are first rate. I've been waiting for this on dvd for a long time.

If you like "Your Show of Shows" and TV comedy variety shows in general, then you wouldn't want to miss "My Favorite Year." It is must for TV and movie aficionados and just should please everyone. Peter O'Toole charms us as the boozy Errol Flynn-like ex-matinee idol recruited by young comedy writer Mark Linn-Baker to make a comeback on live television, as long as he is kept sober enough. Lainie Kazan steals the show as the writer's overbearing Jewish Mama who embarrasses O'Toole and Linn-Baker at a dinner in her Brooklyn apartment one night.
