This is a classic musical. It involves a young peasant girl, Eliza Dolittle (Audrey Hepburn) who is seen as sort of the damsel in distress and is "saved" by a rich middle-aged man (Rex Harrison) who teaches her the proper forms of etiquette, all because of a bet. While the music and acting is excellent, the ending leaves things somewhat unresolved.

I really anjoyed this musical the SECOND time I saw! i WOULD like the movie a hundred times better if Audrey was singing! I recommend you see this soon, it's one of her most memorable.

The musical variation of George Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion' features Audrey Hepburn as the unforgettable Eliza Doolittle. Although she is miming, her performance as the 'cockney guttersnipe' is still regarded as spectacular. The film also features Rex Harrison as an arrogant socialist elecutionist who bets a new acquaintance, Colonel Hugh Pickering (Wilfrid Hyde-White), that he can turn Eliza into an elegant Duchess. Whilst teaching her he falls for her charms and then ending is left open for the viewer to decide their fate...
