Good movie except
the ending. The entire movie was awesome but the ending was just bad.

This is one of the exceptional slasher films of the 80's. Many try to imitate the style and
intensity of such a film and fail. Guaranteed
to provide a nice scare to those that dare view
its wraith. This is not to be confused with the band who shares the same name who as well, are also glorious. Although this movie is supposed to have been heavily edited before theatrical release in 1981, the gore is still above its time for what remained on screen.Was this review helpful? The early 80's were full of Horror films. This one really stood out.Some good scares and decent acting. It finally has made it to DVD. It looks great !! If You're a fan of 80's Horror (Friday The 13th,etc.) See it. I think You'll like it.

MADE ME JUMP SEVERAL TIMES! COULD WATCH THIS OVER AND OVER. THE MINE SCENES MADE MY "HEART" LEAP INTO MY THROAT. RECOMMEND HIGHLY!

great movie...love the darkness of the mines...no cheesy sex scenes..and the killer actually had a good reason to slaughter..too bad this isn't on dvd

This is an all-time classic and deserves every bit of praise (what little there is) it receives. The cinematography is outstanding, the acting is decent, the dialogue isn't bad, and the plot and premise are actually somewhat plausible. This is a forgotten gem that deserves to be rediscovered by the horror community and, if you can find it, rent it and watch it the right way: with the lights turned out, in the middle of the night!

I watched this movie at my friends b-day my aunt told me that in the beginning theres a girl or what ever and she has a tattoo, she said its really important i watched it and was like "helloooo????" whats so important about it! maybe you can figure it out

Good design for the killer plus great atmosphere and a couple good jolts make this worth viewing. Censors cut this one up before distribution, and a disappointing conclusion are the only real drawbacks.

I always wondered why there wasn't a sequel..
Great slasher film that is suspenseful.
You'll never suspect who the killer is.

If you are a hard core horror film buff, you just got to see this film. There is suspense throughout the film while maintaining personal contact with the main characters. Twists here, turns there. Great acting, good direction, even good lighting and sound, which is often missing from horror films. After all these years, still one of the best!

If you collect horror films as I do than you must own this one. I don't think that too many people have given it much of a chance but you need to. Alot of movies start off boring but here this one , from start to finish will scare the hell out of you. It keeps you guessing up till the end. If you haven't seen it than put it on your list.
