    This has been, and always will be one of my favorite movies. Spoofing some of the best characters from early detective films such as:Charlie Chan, Nick Charles of the Thin Man series, Hercule Poirot, Sam Spade, Miss Marple. All of these fictional c...haracters names were changed to a slightly distorted version of the originals, for instance:Sam Spade/Sam Diamond, Hercule Poirot/Milo Perrier. With a wonderful cast of actors and supporting actors, among them, two of my personal favorite's:Peter Sellers as Sydney Wang, and Truman Capote as the quirky villian:Lionel Twain. Neil Simon's play transformed to the screen perfectly with so many laughs and subtle bits of humor, in my humble opinion, you can't go wrong purchasing this DVD. Read more Less

    of the 1940's private eye,film noir genres.However....even if You've never seen an old black & white crime drama the performances are hilarious.Having a knowledge of the older films does add to the enjoyment (especially the names of the characters)bu...t the cast, especially Peter Falk & Peter Sellers and Neil Simon's funny script will keep You laughing & recommending this gem to others.
