    Another view on the War on Terror

    Pros: Acting was on point.

    Cons: Alittle too long.

    Muich is a powerful movie about Israel's revenge for the kidnapping and murders of its 11 Olympians in 1972 by Arab Terrorist. Even though the movie is fictional, I can see the reality of how things might have played out. Spielerg worked his magi...c and linked the Olympic team kidnapping and murders with the deaths of the Arabs in Europe. It shows a never ending cycle of killing that started before the Munich murders and the killing that goes on today(remembering Sept 11). If you want a different look of the War on Terror I suggest you check it out. Read more Less

    Pros: Illuminating

    Cons: Failed to grab me

    This is a movie motivated by one of the worlds most heinous acts, the Arab Terrorist attack on Isreali Olympic Athletes. We all know the story and most thought Isreal would strike back. We did learn some interesting things but things seemed to drag.... We saw a team that appearred like Keystone Cops which had me questioning how much this matched real life. And there was the incomplete realaionships. A relationship with a wife that just did not seem real. A relationship with Mother the by the end of the movie disappeared. The victims seemed too good to be bad. The second target was polite to the killer sounded like a college professor instead of heinous terrorist. It was like the bad guys were good and innocent foils of the bumbling murderers and the Good guys couldn't shoot straight or blow up a bomb to save their souls. The low point was after a team run in with a "Mystery Lady", they have to sanction her and it was the stupidest murder I have ever seen. For a moment, I was afraid she was going to stop in the kitchen and fix a bagel while the murdering of her was going on. Are these men Killers or a bad group of teenagers experimenting with killing? In the end, the questions that get asked should have been asked and answered in the beginning. Were the correct people killed? What was the motivation of the French Family in helping the team but not governments? The only bad Arabs terriorists I saw were getting killed at the airport near Munich. I felt sorry for the dead Isreali Athletes, beacuse what was portrayed here was not vengence. Read more Less

    Spielberg once again embraces without fear the most controversial subjects and accomplishes only what many directors dream of doing. Munich is a powerful fictional telling of the story that follows the terrorist murders of 11 of Israel's Olympic ...team in 1972. It is important to know that the story is only inspired by reported events that followed the kidnapping and murders. Yet this fictional story takes us into a deeper reality that many never imagined as possible and with its story taking place over 30 years ago it becomes a mirror into what the world of power, politics and war are like even today. As always Spielberg inspires us to see the "whole world" through his lense by letting go of our small and safe reality. A must see! Read more Less
