The music on this movie is so inspireing that everone should love it. I feel like I want to play one of those insterments. I have a violin but I dont have lessons, but I wish I did. At the end of the movie when he leads his old students again, it gives me goosebumps. This would be a favorite of mine.

Lets see, where to start. First, im a music major in College, so i had to watch this twice a year in High School. Second, I also took ASL (American Sign Language) for my forign language to get into college, and had to watch it in there every year. And finally, i work at blockbuster, so i have to know movies inside and out. Having said all that, i still greatly enjoy this movie every time i see it. Richard Dreyfuss does a wonderful job acting the part of Glen Holland. this movie hit my heart every time i see it, and i believe it is one of the best ive ever seen.

Mr Hollands Opus is a passionate movie about a man who's career as a music teacher suddenly takes a turn for the worse when at about the age of 1- 2 his son is diagnosed as deaf. Mr Holland finds it hard to connect his love of music to his son and in the end as well as having to cope with the struggles of work he soon realises that there is more to life than music and soon finds true meaning in his life when his unhappy realationship between himself and his son goes from bad to good. The school, which he works for has to cut his music department shows him their truth appretiation of all the hard work he has done by playing the opus which he has spent years writing as a farewell tribute.

A great movie for anyone who ever doubted that their life did not matter. Glen Holland shows us all, that the little things we do in our life, can make a large impact. The supporting cast was excellent, the Music Wonderful, and the Finish a tear jerker.

Who couldn't love Mr Holland's Penis? It has everything that Dangerous Minds, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, Dead Poets Society, Stand and Deliver, Patch Adams, Flashdance had. It's only difference is in its celeberation of the magic of tuba playing. Aside from this, if you loved all those other films, then by golly you'll eat this up too, and enjoy for the 1000th time that magic heart warming feeling that you get when the individual triumphs over the institution and we all once again believe in the power of Hollywood to give us good head. Richard Dreyfuss makes a cute cuddle pie kind of teddy bear dude who we all love and cheer for when the tuba strikes a hearty note for the freedom of humanity and those who stay young at heart. Oh geez im getting cynical in my old age.
