    Pros: lots of Techno features, color camera/video is cool,

    Cons: alot of the features require additional costs.

    This phone has a great abundance of features, many are needed and some wanted. Some, however are unneeded and costly. These extra additional costs can add up, if the phones full capabilities are utilized. The digital color camera, produces some go...od low-rez outputs, but have not had chance to load photos into computer. As they do not include the optional data connection kit. Check out those accessaries. The Bluetooth wireless earpiece would be nice, but are rather expensive still. So, the earbuds are a good value choice, with many styles to choose from too. It's good to have the upgrade capabilities built into the phone should the price of Bluetooth technology come down. Quality of the unit, seems to be a solid piece. Good fitting parts and no rough edges to be found. Smooth operation of the hinge on the top. Display is clear and bright, with full spectrum of colors. Clear voice transmission and reception is also very good too. Signal strength has improved vastly over the older units. Read more Less

    Pros: Bluetooth, Ergonomic, Clear Sound/Signal

    I just got the Motorola V551 from Cingular and have been amazed at how great this phone works. I've had great experience with Motorola phones in the past, but this one takes the cake. The phone holds great signal, sounds clear and with good volum...e. The camera works great for both stills and video. The address book and calendar features are light years beyond other phones I've used in the past. The Bluetooth ability to link with my laptop and with a wireless headset makes the phone so much easier to integrate into my life. No bundles of wires to have to lug around with the phone. I would recommend this phone to anyone. It works for the casual cell user or the full-time on the go cell user. It has all the features and dependability of the $500+ phones for half the price.     Pros: Great overall features & design

    Cons: Battery Life & Dropped Calls

    To sum it all up, after purchasing this phone, it was like buying the Porsche you've always wanted and then when you got it home it did nothing but breakdown (kinda makes you wish you had your old reliable Toyota back again). With that said, I wa...s actual able to correct most of my problems where I'm glad I have the phone now. I work in Production and I'm out in the field a lot, what I needed was a good reliable phone with good signal strength abd great battery life. Coming from a Motorola T720 (which lasted me 3-4 days), but finally broke, I was excited about getting a new Motorola V551. I was having to charge it every freakin' night!! not to mention it was drpping calls!! UGH. This is how you deal with it: According to the Motorola website and what Cingular doesn't tell you is that you have to charge the battery a certain way in order to get the full charge. It still won't last as long as they advertise but mine now lasts for about 2-3 days (but I do turn my cell off at night. You have to charge your completely drained phone with the wall charger, phone is off, for a minimum of 12 hours. Use the phone and drain the battery again and charge 12 hours and repeat one last time. This should get your phone up and going 100%. Make sure you do this while your still in your first month of warranty so that if it doesn;t work you can trad it in. Read more Less

    Pros: good looking phone

    Cons: drops to many calls

    The phone drops too many calls. Nomater where I'm at I drop 20% of my calls. Also not enough rings so you have to pay for new ones.Phone number entry is a hassle, Motorola needs to become more user friendly. Please Moto update the softtware.

    Pros: Many features

    Cons: Drops calls, poor battery life, awful instructional manual

    After owning a few Nokia phones between my work and a Nextel along with my wife, we switched to Motorola phones this year. She has already broke one, cursed me due to dropped calls and cursed me again because I had this bright idea to switch. We have... the same service provider and the dropped calls are not due to the provider, as I now know. I could anticipate the loss of calls with the Nokia phones once in awhile but the Motorola drops anywhere anytime. The Nextel service I had used a Motorola and we had may dropped calls but blamed the service for this. Was it the phone or service? The battery life was also short with the Motorola/Nextel’s, less then a day maybe shorter if I used it a lot that day. (definition of a lot of use) two hours during the day. The new V551 has the same battery life and I tried a long life battery with no considerable difference. I am about to look at eating the phone and going back to the Nokia! Ouch… Read more Less

    A very good phone and a solid value. Best reception in a Motorola phone I have ever seen. My old Motorola V60 was weak in this area but the new V551 has been fantastic. Great color screen, graphics, and loads of features. Good setup and the controls ...are more intuitive than I have seen in past phones. The Bluetooth Wireless headset works very, very well with this phone. Sound quality in the headset is surprisingly good and its easy to use. Its a little costly but worth every penny! Read more Less

    Pros: Only the bluetooth is actually good!

    Cons: Basically every thing else.

    I got this phone through my company, and it sucks! And Im not kidding, I hated almost every thing about the dang thing, but my company requires that we have these! The bluetooth is pretty good though! I have a wireless headset and it connected to it ...pretty fast! But other than that, I hated it! Read more Less

    Pros: Good Looking-Nice Displays-Good Sound Quality

    Cons: Dropped Calls-Side Buttons in Way-Poor Battery Power

    I originally had the V-600 phone, started to have problems with dropped calls, so I switched to the V-551. Many nice features, great diplay color, easy to read, good camera quaility. Still haveing problems with dropped calls. Now the question becomes... is it Motorola or my Cingular service. Motorola help line was not any help. They just ask you to mail the phone in for repair, but don't say what the cause may be. They also did not provide a time table for repair service. Side buttons are also a hassle, two on one side, one on the other. Makes it very difficult to hold, and you will disconnect by hitting one accidently. Battery has no lasting power. Do your research before you go with motorola. Read more Less

    Pros: Phone...um?? is there any?? Makes delightful clicking noise when closes??

    Cons: Almost everything.

    This phone has terrible service. Not only is there nearly any service most of the time, when there is even full bars, the quality of sound is terrible and it drops several calls. It also is unable to send any text messages unless it is to the provide...r (Rogers). The voice mail won't even work. Almost all of my friends have the bottom of the line phones from Samsung or LG and they work 10 times better then this phone at a fraction of the price. I don't know if it is the provider or the phone itself but this phone is not worth the money or frustration. Read more Less

    CANNOT HEAR when someone calls me. This is the second v551 phone with the same problem.
