Beware of the v365 evil twin!

By Kysha  Jul 3, 2007 | 8 out of 10 found this Motorola V365 review helpful

    Pros: great sound and signal

Cons: not all v365s are the same. some don't carry the digital audio player as listed.

Researching this phone, it is shown to have an mp3 player as listed on the moto site as well as many others but I purchased mine through cingular (now att) and later discovered that it has no mp3 player and their site lists it as such. I've talke...d to moto who informed me that I should take it up with att, att says it's the manufacturer's problem and that I should take it up with moto. What a waste! If you go to the moto site, you can go to manuals and click "how to" . You will see a demo of the access of the v365's mp3 player listing it as "digital audio player" under the games/applic. area but this is not so on my phone. If you check the "user guide" on the site, it has directions regarding the digital audio player. The guide that came with my phone does not list any such thing. I have "playlist" under my sounds folder at the end of my listed ringtones. When I hit playlist, it asks for a name and prompts me to create an audio file which leads me back to my ringtones to select from. There are no instructions in my book for this. The moto rep told me that is was for ringtones and another said it was actually the mp3 player but could not tell me how to operate it. Beware. There are two different versions of this model on the market. Read more Less

    Great Phone

By MarkR  Sep 18, 2007 | 2 out of 2 found this Motorola V365 review helpful

    Pros: Durable, Music player, loud

Cons: Fat, unable to change songs while closed

Love this phone. I've dropped it several times and not a scratch. Rubber like exterior protects it well. NOt from breaking, but scratching. Music player is loud, and with the card, I can hold alot of songs, but I don't like that I can't c...hange song to song with the side buttons. I have to go in and choose next. Wish it was more stylish, but then it would probably not be so rugged. Read more Less

    Missing mp3 player

By Janine  Jul 7, 2007 | 0 out of 1 found this Motorola V365 review helpful

Pros: Everything seems fine so far, solid phone, good reception

Cons: AT&T version does not have mp3 player

I am having the exact same problem with the mp3 player. Have spent the last 3 hours being transferred between AT&T and Motorola. Why do they not have a separate model number for this phone? Also, AT&T told me I could use a 2GB memory card, this is ...wrong. Motorola says 512 MB or smaller. The 2GB card was not recognized, the 512 card works great. Have not tried 1GB. Read more Less
